Yes, but other than Mercedes, all the top teams have 'bogey' drivers. Ricciardo is going to have to settle in, Perez is not up with Button yet, and Lotus may have a selection of First Lap Nutcases or newbies.

Alonso and Kimi should be able to consistently score good points in a top 3 or 4 car, which the Ferrari will be.

On paper, it would make Ferrari the strongest complete team. If they don't win something they will have failed.

While I agree that Massa is looking to be without a drive next year, I do not agree with the sentiment that he was never deserving of a Ferrari drive, after all, it was Massa who came second in the 2008 F1 championships, by a single point driving a Ferrari (6 race wins, compared to Kimi's 2, and Hamilton who won the championship, only getting 5).

The problem Massa has, is the injury he sustained in 2009, he's never really been the same driver since.

The accident is an excuse. He looked good against a very erractic and poor performing Kimi. Kimi should have taken that title easily. That Massa got close says everything about Kimi for me. Something clearly was not right at ferrari and he was never comfortable at the team as he was at mclaren.

That's why I don't get the return.

Massa got the drive off less than stellar performances and because his manager was Todts son. Is that any worse than a pay driver? Probably not but he was never ever going to be the replacement for MS's that they pretend drivers like him and Rubens would be. They pedal that line to keep them doing the decent thing for the no1 driver.

Next year could be the only good season for some years imo

New rules allowing for teams without big budgets to develop something different. It would amuse me to see ferrari still not able to win

It looks more and more certain Kimi is going, and good really. I also don'tsee mMassa with anything better than a Williams next year.

Gotta be hulk in the lotus surely

The big change is engines, an area where all teams but Ferrari and Mercedes are merely customers buying a packaged product.

Yes there are developments around the aero, especially at the rear, but the biggest differential is going to be the power units by far, something out of the control of most teams.

All depends on the engine to be honest. They'll need reliability, fuel efficiency and competitive power. Any of that missing and it's down to luck for next season...

Ferrari come out with a bad engine and they'll be nowhere with a pair of world champions. One whingeing, the other eating ice cream.

You whinge more than Alonso :D

When there are big changes to the rules, history has shown that Newey is one of, if not the best, at taking advantage and building the fastest car.

What makes you guys think that Newey and RBR will mess up next year?

Statistically, its difficult to see anybody but Merc (due to R.Brawn) or RBR (due to A.Newey) winning the titles.

Ferrari tend not to be so great when there are significant changes.

Kimi and Alonso will certainly be the strongest line-up, but could we be looking at the same situation as Alonso and Hamilton in 2007, where both drivers finish 1 point off the lead and get beaten by the lesser/team driver, due to in-fighting?

Personally, I'd love to see Alonso and Vettel in the same team - not for the title race, but to establish just who is the best driver in F1, once and for all.

Next years big changes are engine, not aero.

While Newey may be a genius in making the RBR .5 second quicker through his aero designs, an under performing Renault engine could put it 2 seconds off the pace.

Aren't the exhausts regulated to exit high on next years cars ?
That means no sneaky blowing gases on ThermoPlastic floors !

From 2014 i will no longer be driving for Ferrari. I would like to thank the team for all the victories and incredible moments experienced together. Thank you also to my wife and all of my family, to my fans and all my Sponsors. From each one of you I have always received a great support! Right now I want to push as hard as possible with Ferrari for the remaining 7 races. For next year, I want to find a team that can give me a competitive car to win many more races and challenge for the Championship which remains my greatest objective! Thank you all. Felipe

Hulk or Diresta to Lotus?

i would be happy with either, but dont see it being diresta

i also dont rate kimi as high as kimi, even if their ability is the same id still prefer alonso in the car due to desire

i agree it will be engines (obviously) that make the difference, but im not hoping lotus beat redbull, just one of the top 3 would be nice, they will never win a championship so that for me would feel like a win! And with 3 differing engine manufacturers theres a good chance chance of that

i dont see riccardo being to shabby next year, a vettel runaway with maybe an open WCC? good enough for me, i dont care much for WDC

Wow never thought they would ever drop him. I hope he leaves it there rather than becoming a further non-driver.
