Has there been instances in the past where drivers left a team and then come back to that team later on in their career? Im sure there has but cannot recall.

Mansell and Alonso spring to mind instantly.
Gerhard Berger was last Ferrari driver to re-sign for Ferrari.

Raikkonen is the first driver to return to Ferrari after a previous spell since Austrian Gerhard Berger re-joined them in 1993 after leaving them at the end of 1989 to join McLaren.

Ain't Renault in massive debt? Needing the season to end for there championship cut or how ever it works.

They need to hurry up and get hulk.

Someone mentioned Di Resta, seriously why? He is utter carp compared to most of them. Lucky to have a seat at Force India.

Edit: Kimi maybe left because they could not afford him, we all know how Kimi and his management like to line their pockets.

Did he whinge his way through them aswell?

He has brought nothing special to F1, yet. Had the odd good race due to top drivers falling out the race, thats about it.

Im just not a fan of him in any way.

Van De Garde would be next young driver pick after Hulk.

He brings ~£10m of free engines.

Didn't realise that. Is money really that bad there?

They are called Lotus, but don't get a single penny from Lotus Cars. Genii Capital have had to fill in the void left by Lotus bailing, so money is certainly tight. The lack of an engine deal yet is because the Renault engine looks to be £lolwtf expensive, so I imagine they are trying to broker a better deal.

Kimi also managed to go into the back of someone. Not to mention how many times Hamilton and Massa have done similar. I'm sure if you dig around you'll find examples of Alonso making silly mistakes too, I just can't think of one!

I'd love to see Paul in a better car :)

Glad it's not just me on that one.
I really can't see the fuss about him. He just seems to be a plodder making up the numbers.

I am no Di Resta fan, he strikes me as the sort of driver that can drive to a target but not exceed it, i don't think he can get that bit extra out of a car like Alonso, Raikonnen and Hamilton can.

They said the same about Alonso. You do know how long it took him to get a decent car?

Di Resta needs the team to sort out their tire issues as before the new tires they was doing great.

When??? His first season with Minardi, he was praised to the hills for driving it far quicker than it had any right to go. About the only season where he didn't really achieve or exceed expectations was '04, after a 2003 season of mahoosive over-achievement.

Alonso? Second season that he drove, he had a race-winning car (Hungary).

In F3 he just about made the grade, Webber beat him in F3 I think he was lucky to get out of F3 so soon.
2005-2006 was his race winning car.

The rest looks like I was wrong :(
