...and when Williams built KERS, a Fly Wheel :p:D:rolleyes:;)

Seeing as we are being picky, the Williams F1 KERS uses a battery, just like everyone else on the grid.

The Williams Hybrid Power Flywheel KERS system they developed is not used in the F1 cars. It was used in the Porsche 911 RSR GT3 Hybrid, and the Audi R18 Hybrid. It comes with too many packaging issues for F1.

Needz me one of these :D

Someone needs to photoshop that trucks image from when Kimi joined Lotus to change the Vodka and Ice Cream logos to dummies and pram toys :D

I would literally hand over a months wages to be able to take a look at Kimi's contract.

"Nothing will change in the way the team is run," Domenicali said. "Since the world began, our drivers have always started on equal terms. It's always been that way and always will.

LOL.

I'm still not convinced by Kimi's pace since returning, certainly not enough to worry Alonso in a race and his qualifying isn't what it was either. I'm sure he's a big step up from Massa though. I think Grosjean has made kimi look better than he actually is regards consistency and raw pace. I think especially last year they didn't make enough of the car.

It will be fun to watch, especially as Kimi was never comfortable in the team before, with Alonso it should be worse. I'd like to see kimi win another title, I feel he has wasted his talent in F1 before and hope this time he can knuckle down to the task.

I too don't think Kimi is as quick as he was pre-2008, but equally I don't think Alonso is an especially quick driver. He's just incredibly consistent and relentless, able to perform at his top level lap after lap.

I wouldn't be worried about Kimi's qualifying pace. I think that's more down to the nature of the Lotus.

i endorse this comment

It will spice up next year if the engines all turn out to be too reliable :)

My concern is that a few teams have reliability issues and eat through engines. Remember the year Alonso had to run all those races on just a few units left to not get penalties.

I have a feeling we will get in a worse situation next year where drivers are getting screwed through reliability. They should give them more scope in the first year I think for the teams to have an engine couple of engines.

Twitter rumours suggesting Smedley, Massa and Brawn are all heading to Williams.

If true that would be pretty epic!

Brawn yes, the others not bothered at all.

I would love to see a resurgence in Williams, best of luck to them if they can get all the pieces into place to make a comeback, if any one deserves it, its Frank!

As much as I like Williams, they just don't have the resources and finances to be at the front (or mid field for that matter).

I personally would have gone with a picure of the Williams FW07D or 08B or the March 2-4-0...

Although the P34 is favourite of mine. :D

Went with the first of the breed :)

So....what, they should stop trying? It'd be a horrible thing to see midfield teams (indeed, any team) stop hiring people because 'oh well, we're not at the pointy end, we've not got mega money like those others, what's the point in trying?'....

I'll be the first one to say that if you cannot stand the heat you should vacate the cooking area, but it doesn't seem as though Williams think that they're at that point yet. So good luck to them :)

If you can increase the efficiency of the money you DO spend, then you can get a better points return and as such bring in more money back and increase the strength of the team.

Nothing wrong with Williams trying to improve and they have huge scope to improve. For what they are spending they are doing incredibly badly. Has any team spending in midrange area they are gotten less points? Better management can improve that team no end and where that can lead them in the future, who knows. To give up trying to improve is stupid.

I think Dukes comment is more that hiring a technical head and a driver won't fix Williams. They need to do a lot more than that.

And hiring Massa would mean they loose one of their 2 pay drivers, so its a move that would cost them.

As much as I would like to see Williams do well as the under dog, Frank should have got into bed with someone serious the moment BMW left.

But, if Brawn can do half as much with Williams as he did with Honda it would be a great achievement. I think a resurgence at Williams would be something everyone, fans and teams alike, would love to see.

But... its Twitter rumours, like the ones about Alonso going to RBR and Kimi going to McLaren, so pinches of salt have been taken, lol.
