Ikea Billy bookcases are great. Only problem is these damn long wheelbase 2010+ cars only fit 4 to a shelf, I can get 6 on a shelf if refuelling is allowed!

I've seen a clear acrylic display case that 6 x 1:18 cars would fit in, plus I think the 2 helmets should just while I wait to acquire 2 more cars. It's just being bothered to order it! :p

Although they are all Mclarens, it alternates between Hamilton and Button 2008-2011. (Button is in the 2009 MP4-24 which he obviously never raced, but it's classed as the 2010 showcar).

If one of them moves I'm not sure what I'd do, go with a different team and stick with the driver, or keep to Mclaren :o

Need to get a Villeneuve and Mansell helmet and then you can recreate DannyJo's sig ;)

:D

I once bid upto £2500 on one of jv's race winning helmets from the 97 season and £950 on his gloves. Sadly I didn't win either or should I say luckily :D

Nice collections, I have loads of 1/18s upto the year 2002. They have been in the loft since I last moved house. My fav is the 97 Williams on a plinth detailing the races and results.

I do like those smaller scale helmets, I think its a shame these days that they change the designs so often.

So has anyone been following the Global Rallycross Championship. Round 2 was at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend, featuring a bloody massive jump.

For those that have never seen it, although it's named the Global championship, races take place only in the states and one round at the X-games. Drivers include Ken Block, Marcus Gronholm, Travis Pastrana, Dave Mirra, Rhys Mullen, Tanner Foust to name a few. The track consists of long straights, jumps, chicanes, wet and dry track, shortcut and 4 - 6 cars running alongside each other.

Some real good action this weekend, especially in the second to last race with just one car finishing.

Here's a youtube link to all the races from the weekend:
