Motorsport Off Topic Thread

Well, you need someone who'll maintain the dignity and integrity of the 'sport'....so, the writing staff of Eastenders it is.

Heads up for anyone interested, Lewis is one of the guests on the Graham Norton Show next friday.

Oh, spiffing. So I can basically look forward to a bunch of idiotic rambling from fandumb in the run-up to his interview....and then his interview, which will be stage-managed by the ****s that deal with such things....and then the inevitable reaction from fandumb afterwards.

OH JOY OF JOYS.

Think I'll pass :p

More stupidity in European F3. Another nasty block on a straight sends a car flying, and the driver emerged with damage to his helmet (the rollhoop was destroyed):

Tbh I don't care about the driving standards in that video, the fact the roll hoop failed is the serious issue!

When there are so many questionable moves on high speed circuits, the likelihood of that happening is increased. These drivers can't seem to go 3 or 4 laps without causing another safety car, which bunches up the pack again = more contact.

"Dietrich Mateschitz wants to buy the marketing rights to F1"

"What is clear to Wurz, however, is that "Who puts the money on the table, can also make the rules"

http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns31226.html

This could be(if true) the final nail in the coffin for F1.

From another page on that site.
"Indeed, there is now a push to speed up the process and introduce radical changes not for 2017, but in 2016."

http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns31229.html

And last but not least. F1 supporters are getting together to report F1 to the European commission. This will be good :)

My team are not winning all the time, how can we change the rules so that they are? I know! Any team called after a colour and a bovine animal can have unlimit d engine changes and exceed the 100kg/hour fuel flow limit! I am a genius!

To be fair, Red Bull are pretty good at being promoters of events and sport series. I would expect competition law may prevent them owning teams in a series they have the marketing rights too, however.

Don't just assume this is a bad thing. F1 does need someone better to head up the sports promotion than the current dinosaur.

I think its August 2016 rather than this year. The ROC has been pulled forwards (its usually in December) so that they can close the stadium and start the work needed for West Ham to move in in December.

Live coverage from Goodwood FOS on motorsTV over the weekend if anyone is interested.

Several offs at molecomb though which really seem to mess up the schedule.
