F1 drivers with that statement are a short step away from a strike. Then something HAS to happen.

I honestly hope it does, doubtful they'd have the balls to do it though.

You think any driver in modern day F1 is brave enough to be any more outspoken than that letter? Lol!

They are all gagged in the media and gagged in interviews. The only reason that letter has come out is because they can collectively hide behind the shield of the GPDA.

The drivers are just employees of the teams. Any sniff of a strike and the team just waves a P45 at them and they will do as they are told.

Nope, what will happen here is everyone will nod and agree they are correct, agree something needs to be done, and then do absolutely **** all to sort it. They might issue a few new regulations on the colour of drivers underwear and mandating that chewing gum must be put in bins, but that will be about it.

"Sky Sports has extended its partnership with Formula 1 to remain the home of F1 in the UK and Ireland until 2024.

As part of the new deal, Sky has agreed a new broadcast partnership with Formula One Management, strengthening its position as the home of sport offering unrivalled choice for fans."

Doesn't bother me as I subscribe to Sky for Footy and F1 but it's pretty **** for the Sport.

Loads of people moaning about the death of F1 in the UK and what will the sponsors say etc etc. to most sponsors the UK isn't their primary focus as its a 'mature' market. The consumers move from one brand to another so thee are very little 'new' potential customers. Markets in the Middle East and Far East' places like Singapore, China, India etc are far more important for them, especially as standards of living in those countries is rising rapidly and disposable income is increasing very quickly. Those are the people Rolex, Johnnie Walker, Marlboro, Petronas, Ferrari and Mercedes are looking at, not European watchers.

I has been known for contracts to be renewed or have you got some insider info?

The Sky deal from 2019 onwards is as the Exclusive UK broadcaster. Some coverage will be shown on a Free to Air channel (one of Sky's), but the Channel 4 contract will not be renewed after it finishes.

I'd be flabbergasted if the races aren't in 4K next year.

FOM were filming races with HD cameras for about 5 years before they broadcast the World Feed in HD. As far as I know they are not yet using 4k cameras trackside.

If you think the sport needs more money given to some of the teams, yes, its exactly what it needs.

Fixed that for you. It's not Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull that need the extra money. If anything they should get less. F1 badly needs a deal so that all teams get the same from FOM and CVC. Sponsorship and/or money from the manufacturers would still mean more for the bigger teams.

That would totally break the Constructors Championship.
