Motorsport Off Topic Thread

The mix of cars and engines in WEC make it a great thing to watch live, even if it can be a bit confusing to follow once your well into the race.

I'm tempted to do Silverstone, but it will be a last minute decision if I do.

The Eurosport coverage is pretty good. Working around what else they have on they try and show as much of the race live as they can, and have plenty of highlights shows after too. I can never remember the names of the commentators but they are very much into it, and for a lot of the time you feel like your sitting around a table with a group of Sports Car racing fans listening in to them have a chat over a pint about a sport they love. Same goes for the Radio Le Man's guys (they might even be the same team)?

I find F1 pretty confusing to follow live lol!

Interesting variety in tyre choice for Bahrain.

I'll start adding these to the race threads I think.

A very sensible letter that mirrors quite a lot of peoples views. The issue with F1 is the way its regulated.

Unfortunately, there is **** all they can do about it, as those who make the rules are commercially invested in being in that position. The FIA sold the regulatory rights to the teams, so restructuring the organisation would require payouts in order to terminate contracts, or agreement from the teams to leave (which won't happen). So there is a long and potentially expensive process involved in disassembling the current structure before organizing a new one can even start :(.

F1 will die, while everyone who could save it is pre-occupied disagreeing about how to save it.
