Rumours today saying Rosberg in talks with Ferrari and Toto would welcome Alonso. If that happened .... :o !
Not a chance. Rosberg has proved he is not ready to accept the number two tag, so why mix him with Vettel... it would just lead to the same fall out that is happening at merc. And why would Rosberg leave when Ferrari aren't looking any closer this year? It's a no-no from both sides.

Same with the other rumour... Alonso and Ham are best buds when there is no competition. In the same car? Massive fall out, and with Merc being in a great position and Alonso in the twilight of his career, makes zero sense. Merc would only rock the boat for someone like Verstap, who has many years ahead of him.

Looks like no in-season testing at all for Hamilton. He's also gone silent on social media since the race. Quietly sulking / fuming / not caring / loving life / laying down some tracks / walking the dogs * somewhere

* delete as appropriate

Apologies - I was just poking fun at him. The more serious point was that the only testing slots Mercedes now have remaining must be used with young drivers.

I don't think Hamilton and Alonso would fall out at all now... Alonso has matured enormously since 2007, it'd be like the relationship Button and Hamilton had at McLaren I reckon now. Alonso isn't the hot headed fiery Spaniard he was back then, he's mellowed out and I think he'd be able to keep Lewis under control the same way Jenson did.

I'd be happy to see alonso and lewis in the same team again, most definitely both have matured.
However... I'd rather see new blood step up, Wehrlien or another young driver, Alonso has had his time in the limelight, dont get me wrong, i'm not at all suggesting he's past it, just that i'd rather see new talent rise to the top, on that i dont think Wehrlien is on the same level as the likes of Max, possibly a good replacment for Nico if he were to go to Ferrari though, if Merc were to some how tease Max from RBR with the same sort of advantage they have now, or if RBR were to build a car to 2017 regs that had an advantage over the rest of the field, i genuinely think we'd see another multiple WDC.

I want to see how good Alonso really is... many say the best driver on the grid at present - if he beat Lewis in the same car then wow, what a spectacle that'd be. 2007 wasn't really a fair comparison of each driver, now, both matured, I'd love to see them in the same team. Wehrlein etc. have got plenty of years ahead, Alonso's in his twilight years.

I think, as long as everything was above board nothing underhanded or no dirty tricks alonso would take it on racecraft, lewis might take the edge on outright pace and qualy, but in my opinion a motivated and hungry alonso would still have the edge on race day. I agree 2007 was far from a fair comparison, impressive performance but far too much antics.

Also going by Social media, looks like the reason Lewis was absent from testing was sponsorship/endorsement commitments.
He's missed a lot of tests in the past though, nothing new there.

There's just been an almighty accident in Euro F3. One car got thrown 8ft in the air at least. One driver got out by himself but seemed to pass out when a marshall got to him. Hope all involved are ok

Holy ****!!!:eek:
Thats one of the biggest motorsport crashes i've seen in some time, that was absolutely brutal smash.
Hope the drivers are ok and there no serious life changing/life threatening injuries.
