I would imagine this new 'panel' will crumple on impact (offering zero impact resistance) and therefore not intrude into whatever it hits, which would keep the whole point of the 'low noses' intact. Why? Maybe because the step noses are pig ugly.

The amendments to the regs mention an appendix that details the structural build up of the panel, but I can't find it.

Just some gossip on Kimi here...

I was at a customers the other day, she's the biggest Mclaren fan I know. Merchandise, photos, grand prix attendances, the lot. She's followed them around the world especially during the Mika Hakkinen, David Coulthard era etc.

Anyway she's good friends with Kimi's Mum and Dad and has been to their house a few times.

After Kimi's 2005 Hungarian win he strolled in through the front door, nodded to his Mum and Dad, sat down, opened a newspaper and then started reading; he didn't say a word.

He then got up some minutes later, told them he was going out and left the house.

Odd. But then again, that's Kimi Raikkonen for you I guess! :D

He probably went home for an ice cream before realising they didn't have anything he liked. :D

I wonder if kimi really ever talks to anyone at all, its only recently that hes obviously been coached about answering more than a few words when hes interviewed.

hakkinen was pretty bad aswell though often giving one word answers like he didnt speak english almost

I was never a huge fan of Kimi, but that is just legendary!

Schumacher has just announced he is retiring at the end of the season. Again.

In other news, Giedo van de Garde of GP2 fame will be driving Heikki Kovalainen's car in FP1 at Korea, India, Abu Dhabi and Brazil. Que rumours that Heikki is leaving Caterham. Sauber? Ferrari?

On Perez

Autosprint magazine claims that Ferrari did not actually rate the 22-year-old Mexican overly highly, after Jules Bianchi went almost half a second faster in their most recent head-to-head test last September.

Referring to Perez’s signing by McLaren, the magazine said: “Ferrari, as well as many others, were taken by surprise. But if Ferrari had been aware, would they have done something to stop it? Probably not.”
