There's been some rumours in recent days from some of the usual suspects that Williams have agreed to Porsche buying a stake in the team and they will become the Porsche factory team (I'd assume they'd keep the Williams name somewhere too)
I assume if they do they'll now just share the Audi engine given that they were expecting to just re-badge a Red Bull engine.

Porsche and Audi are part of the same group, so that would make sense.

They can probably throw loads of money and resources at it until then too circumventing those pesky caps. (As they aren’t yet in proper)

Can they? There were articles about other teams being unhappy about this and seemingly discussions about when Audi would have to start sticking to the cap. A quick google though and I can't find any articles as to the outcome.

There's a section about new entrants in the financial regs.

I’m sure they have an office/workshop hidden away somewhere that’s out of reach of the FIA. :D Plus performance wise I’d rather they came in like a Mercedes rather than a Honda… (obviously that’s reversed this season though.)

These are what is known as the chassis names, which are baked into that team's entry for that year. To change the chassis name you effectively have to re-enter, hope you get approval and pay the entry fee again.

Reapproval is a formality as they'd likely waive that if you're an existing team. However, like Force India when they became Racing Point; if you did somehow manage to avoid re-paying the entry fee through agreement with the FIA you'd end up losing all of your championship points etc. So, back to my point... if they applied under BMW Sauber F1 Team for the 2010 season and it was approved then they'd have incurred huge hassle and cost to change the name to include Ferrari in the chassis name post-approval.

So what's going on RB and the FIA with the cost cap breach? I seen nothing about for a while now.
Supposedly they've agreed something now but it's all being kept quiet 'out of respect for Mateschitz'.

Don't think anyone has said how long that will be for.

So brushed under the carpet then..
Probably until the season’s over now. Pathetic. Don’t they realise the longer they let this go on for the more they are damaging the reputation (lol yeah) of their current “champions” and the sport itself? We’re now going from one championship having an asterix by it, to two, to potentially what? All years with these new regs - given given the clear advantage that RB have given themselves.
