Pretty sure he joined up with them before Christmas. McLaren agreed he could leave before Jan 1st.
Yeah I've heard that as well. It is traditionally 1st January when a driver can at least visit his new team. I'm guessing McLaren didn't really want Lewis around too much longer to see their new developments?

He had his last visit to the Mclaren factory a good few weeks ago.

Trying to freeze him out of their 2013 car as much as they can?

Yeah as soon as he signed for Merc they would have kept him out of the loop on anything 2013 related, although unless they had something 'big' (like F-Duct in 2010) then there isn't much he can tell them about as the cars are almost ready now any way.

Shame Sparky isn't here to give us a bit more insight on how much the drivers see of the new cars.

According to Hamiltons Twitter his last day at McLaren was 16th December.

His Twitter is still covered in McLaren branding, so I would assume if he is working with Mercedes the PR team haven't got hold of him yet.

I can imagine the passcards they undoubtedly use to get into rooms suddenly didn't work for Lewis with some rooms after his announcement. ;)

Well there's that and there's what happens when a driver is leaving the team for a rival team. Red Bull aren't going to experience that this year.

Yeah I think they said he was basically locked out of the factory once he had signed for Mercedes. Standard practice really.

RBR have never had a driver leave for a rival team, have they?

LOL sure Senna spent his time when getting a lift looking at the dash to see if he could get any info from it, sure it was said in the Senna film.

I'd love to know what usable data he could get from a trundle back to Parc Fermé perched on a sidepod, but if anyone could manage such a feat it would be Ayrton Senna

That was the good old days of F1, not this sterile FIA nonsense we have know. How I miss it.
