Motorsport Off Topic Thread

Both Ferrari and Webber confirmed they were talking. Same deal with Button. How far along or serious those talks got we don't know.

The drivers for Felipe Baby's kart challenge are here.

It's on this weekend... Unsure about TV coverage and times, I'll have a look.

Edit: Can't find it listed anywhere :( Hopefully it'll be on somewhere or streamed online. I'll have another look when I'm at home and can scroll through the TV listings.

This is the sort of thing the F1 channel is ideal for.

My thoughts exactly. I'd like them to turn it into a more general motorsports channel, Sky already have other stuff they could show on there it could be fantastic.

There seems to be an awful amount of time to fill on there as it is.

What other motorsports do Sky Sports have other than Speedway? I've not had SS for a while so lost touch.

The only other one I watch on Sky Sports is the Indycar, not sure if they have NASCAR or not anymore.

No idea what will happen to the WRC coverage now Reb Bull have gotten involved so they could get that I guess... Although there doesn't seem to be much demand for it anymore :p

Fanvision have pulled out of F1 :o

Wonder if FOM are going to produce their own device, or make an app for people to use on Smart devices with the same sort of functionality?

Bernie :/

Fanvision used its own transmitters to send the signal. Apps wouldn't work as they would need data connections, and roaming data is very expensive.

I imagine either FOM screwed them, or they just werent getting enough money from it.

Shame, I wouldn't go to a race without one now.

Ah yes IndyCar. NASCAR is on ESPN for the Sprint Cup and Motors TV for the Nationwide series. Id they put IndyCar on SSF1 I'd watch it.

WRC coverage can't afford to go to a subscription channel, its struggling enough as it is. But then who bothers to watch it any more anyway?

It would be pretty useless with a phone app anyway, as in this country at least, the data connection and sheer number of people is terrible at Silverstone.

And in foreign countries you have roaming data charges too.

I can't imagine signal is that good in the depths of Belgium forests.
