That sounds like a good rumour that someone’s just made up :p In all seriousness, it doesn’t correlate with what the xenophobe said in the last few days about assessing his performance in the next two races

But I can believe RB have knocked him down so much he just wants to throw in the towel completely.

To be fair it's been flatly denied by people close to Perez.

More interesting is the rumours that there is a vote this week that could see Marko booted as an advisor to Red Bull.

It's suggested that a lot of senior people including Horner and the new Red Bull CEO Mintplaze want him out.

Well that’s good news for the sport. About flippin’ time. But mind you, I thought regarding the cost cap palava he doesn’t actually work for RB?
You make an interesting point as the other teams asked the FIA and Red Bull to clarify his role in the team as he’s not listed under the teams top earners On RB’s declaration.

Unless he knows how to put an engine together, not sure why he'd be part of the F1 division? Probably part of RB parent, much like how Merc F1 get support from Merc parent, etc.

I'm sure there's a lot of people who work directly for F1 teams who don't know how to put an engine together... PR/marketing, personal trainers, IT, facilities etc. For example, you can go work on SAP for the Mercedes F1 team directly, currently...

At the end of the day Marko (and his opinions) are seemingly second-only to Horner when it comes to the RB F1 team. It seems to be a complete warping of the truth to say he doesn't work for the F1 team, because he is front and centre at every race, is making public comments and announcements constantly and seems to have a very real influence on what the team does with regards to it's drivers and management decisions. It's obvious it's a fiddle for the books by saying he doesn't work for them.

Apparently as well some of his traditional duties have been given to Horner this season, overseeing more of Alphatauri included which used to be a Marko job.

I actually wouldn't be that surprised to see Marko booted and Horner given a new role as CEO of the entire Red Bull Racing organisation (Red Bull F1, AT & the Powertrains)

My point is that Helmut probably isn't employed by RB i.e. he isn't a salary employee, be it marketing, engineering, IT, etc.

Many companies have advisors/boards, which is his described role. Every single team has external advisors, whether they show up to the races or not is a different story.

He already is CEO of Red Bull Racing.

A bit like Dominic Cummings? When an 'advisor' becomes too big for their boots and starts threatening the public face of your company, it's time to go. Anyone can shuffle paper and money around different companies, corps, umbrellas etc. but we all know Marko holds a position of high responsibility at RBR, and indeed is the de facto head of the driver program at RB and AT as far as I last heard.

When was the last time a driver and not a team got a fine anywhere near that old top end. From recent memory the only one that comes to mind is Lewis missing the trophy presentation that was only 50k
