It is all a game of luck really. Alonso was thinking the same when he made his switch to Macca with the Honda partnership because no one else was catching the Mercs at that time.

Hamilton is in a similar position because Mercedes are not catching RB any time soon and the Ferrari was the only car that looked like challenging but had drivers who were not good enough. Anyway it will either look great and win his 8th championship or get egg on his face with an utter dog.
 
This is some exciting news. I think in the past Hamilton had said that he had did want to drive for Ferrari but I never thought that it would happen. Is he the first British Ferrari F1 driver since Nigel Mansell?

I hope that 2024 will not be spoiled with him getting less preference and priority in Mercedes.

I hope Carlos Sainz can get another good seat as well he has been steadily getting better but F1 is a tough sport with limited cars and teams.
 
What are the Hamilton haters going to say if he jumps into a Ferrari and starts beating Leclerc? There’s no excuse of it being “his team” like Mercedes when he was doing over Russell. It’s certainly going to be interesting…

Depends how you rate Leclerc I guess; personally I don't think he's as good as he's hyped up to be

Alonso to Merc - who else realistically
daddy stroll cba after losing two ridiculous drivers in 3 years
Cant get a top caliber driver, sells the team
Stroll Jr out of the seat.
Andretti buys team - Indy car driver and carlos sainz?

Will be interesting to see how the Russell copes as defacto lead driver now.

Hamilton will be locked out of the future development path so it will fall onto Russell to bring the car forward.

Andretti won't be anywhere near Aston Martin; there's already Saudi money in there; they'll take the whole team if and when Stroll sells up
 
Not a good move for Hamilton in my view , Le Clerc ain't no patys like Botas was. Going to be geraf fir F1 racing fans though,

But I suppose I can give you 40 million reasons s why he's done it !
