Motorsport Off Topic Thread

Well it depends upon what it is he has alleged to have done isn't it.
Toto is well known for banging his desk, breaking headphones and being quite aggressive and forceful and I don't doubt worse takes place behind the scenes. Quite easily any TP's behaviour could be interoperated as controlling because it is their job.
But you've missed the point I was raising about the dynamics that's going on within RB anyway..
I was commenting on a particular part of your post :) For someone to raise to complaint against a CEO in a very public company takes courage, as the person would surely know this would become public knoweledge. This is all on the assumption he has done something.

If it turns out to be completely fabricated then the accuser deserves everything they receive.

For me the telling fact is they have an external barrister dealing with it. Time will tell but if was betting man I would say Horners garden will be looking nice this summer:)

Surely it's also quite telling that reports say he was asked to step down voluntarily. That means there's probably enough to get rid of him, but they don't want to sack him because it reflects worse on the organisation. What they probably wanted him to do was the old "I have decided to step down from my role to concentrate on my family at this time" and everyone can get on with their lives. But Horner being Horner, clearly doesn't want to do that. So they've got to weigh up whether or not they can get through this with him in place, probably tempted by his success, or it's best for the brand to get rid and move on.

You don't advise your TP to step down for nothing. Especially one at the "top" of their game.

Yes, the best case scenario is probably, well it was bad but only bad enough for a warning or something, what do they do then.
As I said, I would hope there is some serious evidence for it to have gone this far.

Like any company it needs to taken seriously and given Horner's stature within RB F1 they've done the right thing to be seen as transparent. Plus the complainant went to RB HQ in Austria, not the UK F! division.
Politics playing it's part as well..

To be honest I don’t mind him or anyone for that matter fighting for their job if they believe they are innocent or it wasn’t that bad it warrants you losing your job. But if it doesn’t go the way you want it to, you have to accept the consequences of being sacked because of XY on your CV.

Did it go directly to RB HQ? Or was the original complaint made to RBR and because of the politics and/or internal processes it was passed to RB HQ. Has that been made public knowledge?

Conspiracy theory grenades:

1: A mole was hired by other team/s to go and "work" at Red Bull and manufacture this situation.
2: Marko is paying an internal staff member a "lifetime payment" to manufacture said situation and create enough doubt around Horner to move him along.
3: Same as above but Joss did it.
4: Newey wants to leave so he did something to set the wheels in motion.
5: Perez is the "staff member" aggrieved after Christian accidentally sent him a d pic.

Point 3: Jos wouldn't be so cunning. He'd just use the all the skills he learnt whilst sparring his wife and beat up Christian.

Point 5: There was a picture of him around Christian's house recently. Maybe that's when he got the pic.

Autosport are reporting that Hamilton has a non-poaching clause in his contract that will prevent him taking a bunch of staff with him to Ferrari.

From my understanding it's only Lewis who can't poach. Nothing could stop Ferrari making contact.

I've seen various quotes about D pix being sent.. Anyone seen any reputable sources suggest that?

I hope Horner gets booted.. he's athoroughly unpleasant person and his treatment of pregnant mother of his offspring was poor to say the least

Calling for resignations based off of stories and an investigation which is not completed or final hearing complete, sounds sensible.
For a normal person, yes. But Horner told so many lies on so many things I wouldn't extend him any benefit of the doubt.

You never know, one of the rags reported that the story was first leaked to Dutch newspaper DeTelegraaf , suggesting it came from the Verstappen camp. But they chose not to run it after legal threats by RB and it was passed onto F1insider.
