It still doesn't make sense to me. The fact he's stayed means he's either putting his fingers in his ears and ignoring it all, he has a really high opinion of himself and doesn't think he can do any wrong
Umm, you realise who we’re talking about right? Any other company he would have been gone the morning before the story got reported for the first time to “spend time with his family” — and it would have been brushed under the carpet quicker than you can say RB20. He wouldn’t have been allowed near a TV camera for 5 years. But no…
Of course the person has, as I said a few days ago you don’t go reporting your CEO with hard evidence and the person must be terrified.
Yes. This. F1 is a pretty hard industry to break so you’d not throw your career away without good reason. I can’t imagine it’s someone looking for their 5 minutes of fame.

Actually it went up. Yeah, I was surprised too.
I'm not; have you watched American TV? DTS has very much evolved/devolved in that direction.

It's also on Netflix, who have seen a subscriber increase, so it might also be general awareness and people just putting it on.

I wonder if those who were defending him so vehemently last week will eat humble pie now.
Think you need to step back from the bias and look at the points actually raised.

No one was defending the actions, if true. We were defending a fair and due process to be followed and not reading a headline from a tabloid and running around like its truth.
£650k now reported as to be hush money, but yet;
"It is also claimed by De Telegraaf that the woman has been offered a sizeable financial sum, which was last night denied by Horner’s lawyers."

So no proof, but yet now some users considers him to be offering hush money and potentially done it before to others in the paddock. Shoot first off of rumours, so sensible.

So de telegraph has doubled down saying they have seen the evidence etc and Horner and his lawyers double down on denying everything.

Horner does have a track record of seeing things from an unusual perspective so maybe he genuinely believes what he says.

Normally in these situations the manager in question realises they’re up against someone who is never going to back down so quietly lets it all go and we all come to a compromise agreement. It appears to have been allowed to go way too far for that so presumably hr in rb have been persuaded to brush the initial misdemeanour under the carpet. But the grievance hasn’t gone away, she has become frustrated with a lack of internal company action so taken it externally.
Horner now has no choice it’s all or nothing for him if the evidence exists as per the report which it probably does as the meeting with the independent barrister is accepted as fact and if there was no evidence what would they be talking about?

So the only thing they could really be discussing is how to pay her off or get her to back down.
It depends if he can bully her into accepting a settlement, as the line will always be ‘you will never win a court case’ etc.

So there’s two angles, a carrot and a stick. It’s just another negotiation for him. But this time it’s serious.

I'll reserve judgement until we actually know; one minute the "De Telegraph" stuff is gospel, the next its been written off as crap.
Of course but look at what is undisputed, he had a meeting in London with a KC. Redbull have said there will be a full independent investigation. So they are either being super cautious and the allegations are weak or they’ve been pushed into a corner. It seems like the latter otherwise they could have quashed it by now, but who knows, they have after all allowed him to carry on working which would never happen in any other large business. It’s a mess.

For me the fact he's still working suggests there's more to this than an open and shut case.
If there was the overwhelming evidence De Telegraph suggests he would be out already or at the very least suspended, no matter if thats a UK, Austrian or Thai company.

Anyway as I said I'll reserve judgement until all is said and done, too many speculating in here in heresay and potentially less than solid sources.

Personally I don’t read too much into that. RB and Horner particularly are historically very good at playing the victim - and/ or acting like they are an exception to the rules. It’s sort of their culture. So in this case I would not be surprised if he’s as guilty as a guilty thing and just completely unwilling to accept it.
The fact that he was allegedly advised to step down correlates.

I don't remember the likes of Weinstein quietly standing down. People like Horner don't go down without a fight - that's part of what made him so successful - and he's more than well enough connected to cling on if he wants to.

As more comes out this all seems more convincing. We shall see, but I think it's about 90:10 that he's done it, and about 80:20 that he will be out over this.

Nowadays you won't get away with it especially if you're a high profile person.

If his guilty his done mate.
