That is shockingly poor form by RBR (even if its "only" Red Bull the Corporation, rather than the racing team - which imo in this context should be seen as the same thing) it is horrendous and misleading marketing.

They should do it again but properly this time as a good will gesture (Less than £5k out of Horner's budget - if that - wouldnt be noticed). They wont, but they should.

lol at the top comment on that harlem shake vid

"The first Harlem Shake by a Formula One team - in pit stop style!"

"McLaren pit stops in 2012 :)"

Looks like McLaren will need to pick an engine supplier for 2014 very soon.

Mercedes are currently supplying themselves and Force India next year and are looking for a third team, Mclaren top of the wish list.

Mclaren ideally doesn't want to be another engine customer, but rather have a works engine. Hence rumours circulating of rebuilding a partnership with Honda.

Oooh.. Sounds interesting. I would love Honda to return to F1 if only as an engine supplier

Honda V6 Turbo ready already

The new engine formula is attractive for Honda. She has downsized, turbocharged, direct injection and a hybrid drive - which is exactly what has been missing in the 2008 Formula 1 and given as a reason for dropping out. Modern technology.

The paddock radio reported that Honda has developed its turbocharged V6 ready and that in the McLaren factory Woking already Honda technicians are stationed, to ensure the optimum installation of the engine in the chassis. It is believed to be still not clear when the engine is celebrating its race debut. An official board decision to do so is pending.
McLaren and Mercedes are running out of time

We already have Renault powered Williams and would be awesome to have Honda powered McLarens again :D

I haven't been keeping up on this but is any other team confirmed or rumoured to be using Honda engines? If not then if they have develoepd one it will be used by McLaren as I can't see Honda going through the cost of making an engine if they didn't already have a buyer. Well unless Honda plan to return as a works team....

That's the first bit of information we have seen that Honda are even looking at 2014 engines, and now they have one built? I'm dubious. Renault, Mercedes and Ferrari have been developing their engines for 2 years, I cant see how Honda would have been able to develop one without anyone knowing.

I predict a short term deal with Mercedes for a year or 2 before they change.

I'd heard little things about a former far east engine supplier dipping it's toe back in the f1 sharktank with the turbo's coming - since the turbo engine regs were being passed around initially. So, mid 2011?

Honda was the obvious one, could have been Toyota though. I was just hoping it wasn't Subaru again. :D

It's entirely possible that they could have a design on the board and even prototypes running. They do have designs for 1.5l V6's turbo's floating around that they could take a close look at and even have some of them they could run on dyno's to bring their knowledge up.

Honda had arguably the best 1.5L V6 Turbo in the 1980s. They've got the basic technology sorted which would happily give them a few month head start over someone like Mercedes.

/edit : beaten to it by Flibster!
