I guess there was less interest in Albon than the media were suggesting if he's resigned for Williams.
No offence to Williams but if Merc or Red Bull were serious about signing him he would never had signed a new extension

Any Mercedes deal would likely have been a 1+1 year deal as they really like Antonelli and could even promote him to the works team for next season, although more likely he will spend a couple of seasons at Williams.

Red Bull treated him terribly and, like they treat most drivers, threw him under the bus. I doubt he will go back while Horner and his cronies are still there.

That left Audi (unlikely, they really want Sainz) or remaining in place, knowing what steps are being taken behind the scenes and the investment from Dorilton and the work being put in by Vowles.

I read somewhere that with RB they didn't offer him a seat but wanted a 'first pick' type deal when he left Williams, which seems a bit crappy really so no surprise he told them where to shove it :p

Albon spent a year on the sidelines already, that's likely to make him cautious about gambling on a better seat. Williams are undergoing a lot of change under good leadership, they may well be a surprise package in a few years.

I love it. People moan about the red and white, but that was a tobacco sponsor and not about the man himself. This is far more tasteful and represents what he loved the most, his home country.

Yeah totally agree, a lovely one off. Actually ties in with the Google wheel rims as well :p

New McLaren one-off Senna-inspired livery for Monaco:

This is how you do a special livery.

Unlike Ferrari who tried to tease it all week/hype it up, just for it to end up being a couple of small bits of blue on a still predominantly red car.

McLaren just out of nowhere go: "Here's an awesome special livery that's completely different to the normal one. Enjoy"

I got shouted down by the pro-RB brigade for pointing out it was bad form to announce Newey's departure on the 30th anniversary of Senna's death, but it seems he agreed; https://www.planetf1.com/news/ted-k...wey-very-unfortunate-exit-announcement-timing Not just the fact of his death, but it was a Newey-designed car to boot. Very insensitive.

And in other Newey news, Eddie Jordan would "give his life" to rubbish claims he has already signed for Ferrari :o

Actually you got the usual, ignored.
No my apologies, you got the one response you deserved in your very transparent attempt to stir things up, and from a moderator...
