Motorsport Off Topic Thread

I would have expected that to mean he was getting cleared, but it seems reports from within the company suggest that there is a better squabble going on between the Thai and Austrian owners. I also sure reports that Newey and the Verstappen camp have lost faith with Horner, although I'm not sure I give that much credence.

More waiting it seems. Not good for Red Bull or F1 to let this carry on into the season.

Looks like Horner has been cleared. That's the excitement over then now we can focus on the racing because it's going to be just as exciting on track this year!
Lewis still wants him binned though.

Actually confirmed now rather than 'set to be cleared' as per the last handful of reports.

“The independent investigation into the allegations made against Mr Horner is complete, and Red Bull can confirm that the grievance has been dismissed. The complainant has a right of appeal. Red Bull is confident that the investigation has been fair, rigorous and impartial. The investigation report is confidential and contains the private information of the parties and third parties who assisted in the investigation, and therefore we will not be commenting further out of respect for all concerned. Red Bull will continue striving to meet the highest workplace standards.”

Red Bull chief cleared for all charges

Red Bull Austria have issued an statement:
“The independent investigation into the allegations made against Mr Horner is complete, and Red Bull can confirm that the grievance has been dismissed. The complainant has a right of appeal. Red Bull is confident that the investigation has been fair, rigorous and impartial.
The investigation report is confidential and contains the private information of the parties and third parties who assisted in the investigation, and therefore we will not be commenting further out of respect for all concerned. Red Bull will continue striving to meet the highest workplace standards.”

What we have realized, and have also reported, is that the allegations made by the employee in question concern sexual misconduct. Of course, I'm not talking about whether someone is guilty or not. And, I think most importantly, none of those involved have refuted that information.

He's not saying he was wrong though.

Which is a bit rich coming from him, everyone I know that dealt with him in a service industry has said he's to be avoided. Rude and talks down to you. This was just another virtue signalling exercise for him.

Well, I hope that'll be enough to stop it hanging over the sport, but I suspect that's too empty a statement to stop it from being constantly raised around Horner. And that's assuming that nothing more comes out and there's no attempt from the woman involved to take it through legal channels.

We shall see.

Lewis still wants him binned though.

Seems more like a generic statement than a request for binning to me, also he said that before the outcome was known so I'm not sure it deserves that "though".

According to what has been officially stated there will be no details released on the allegations or the investigation report. So the above in post #16,710 is complete fabrication.
I quote:
"The investigation report is confidential and contains the private information of the parties and third parties who assisted in the investigation, and therefore we will not be commenting further out of respect for all concerned. Red Bull will continue striving to meet the highest workplace standards."

I think Planet F1 had two versions of that article ready to go and didn't fully check it
