Not strictly true , we still get a Championship bonus for 3rd place it's just not as much as for finishing 1st obviously. Won't go into figures but figure mentioned is on the low side, even for 3rd.
Throws out the thought that they're using Sergio's sponsor money to make up the difference in total earnings, but get the increased testing time. That being said, not unlike corporations to keep the profits at the top.

Well, this is special: FIA seeks to weaken ethics oversight systems with rule change meaning that the President would take over direct control of ethical accountability. That would be the same system that has been investigating MBS.

It's OK though, because loads of random FIA member automobile clubs from south america, africa, central europe and the middle east have been sending letters of support for him in broken english, calling for the ethics system to be reviewed so it can't be used to attack him and the FIA in the future

So it's definitely all legit, well above board and not even remotely suspect

Yeah it stinks, maybe getting lessons from Trump and his boyfriend Musk?

Holy poop, I'd be angry AF at his utter dog poo performance given the chances he has, he's super rich and you loose out because he can't be bothered to drive with any effort at all.

So MBS is forcing everything to come thru to him and another crony, completely eliminating the audit and ethics commitee.

Parallels can be drawn with a bloke in Russia.

Zandvoort will be leaving the calendar after 2026, can't say I'm particularly sad about that. It's not been a great track.

Feels like somewhere that will suit being a sprint race weekend but agree unless its been wet its not been great, its just not a great track for modern F1.
Obviously not been as financially lucrative as expected but then unlike places like Italy or Spa where local and national government is willing to put some cash in I don't believe the same can be said for Holland.

Agree, another track I won't miss Zandvoort. I guess you have to look over a series of years to see if a track consistently delivers good racing. Some of the races we have had, have only been good because of rain, or championship climaxes where the points mean something, or unusual conditions with deg and tyre offsets and temperature. I'd be interested to see the lowest rated tracks @chrismscotland over a number of years since you did your threads voting on them. Monaco I would assume would be bottom.
It would be cool to bring back some of the tracks we went to in the past, but I guess it is so financially driven as opposed to whether we get good racing.
