Motorway cops - cops out of order?

I've just been watching it and thought the lad was a ****** and deserved the fine. He handled it all wrong IE he should have told the polieman as soon as he was stopped. He got off on the wrong with the policeman when he was swearing at him when the car first stopped. Of course the police are going to be harsh with them since they thought the car was stolen

Just what I though! What an irritating **** the lad was!

He was being really cocky, so I don't think there was anything wrong with what the Police did there.

I'd never behave like that if stopped by the Police. In my (very limited) experience, if you treat them with respect, they'll return the favour :)

Exactly my opinion also. He deserves everything he got.

I dont think the young was being cocky at the start.

By the looks of it and for the few seconds we missed, it looked like the cop was trying to rip him out of the car. The young lad did nothing wrong bar some plates, which he had 14 days to fix.

How would you feel if the police pulling you over and started to rip you out of the car for nothing>

If the Police were trying to pull me out of the car, next to lane one, I'd do what he says. The Policeman know's he's in a dangerous situation, only takes a shove and he's gone, so the policeman will use far more force thne usual to get him to saftey.

Typical? :'(

Sorry that was a little generalist point of view and maybe a little unfair.

However I seem to see more and more young lads and teenage people with an increasingly large "attitude" it drives me irate.

He was knowingly driving around with dodgy plates and had a seriously bad attitude so he deserved a lot more than he got IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if he'd got the plates deliberately made up incorrectly so he could avoid Gatsos and if he got pulled all he had to do was say it was the fault of the plate manufacturers (an excuse he'd already used a week beforehand)

Come to think of it, don't have you to take your V5 with you to get plates made up these days so "accidents" like this don't happen?

Rubbish, that lad was a lippy, jumped up little oik, and needed a good talking to. I would have gone a lot further than that cop, and given him a right telling off for being an idiot. Isn't that what cops are supposed to do?
No, they are not there for parenting.

I would be extremely annoyed if the cops pulled me over for no real reason "you look dodgy" or "what you doing at this time of night" moreso if I had to be somewhere important.

Sounds like this chap required it (dodgy plates?)

Anyways, I have yet to be pulled over...

I assume his 14 day notice was backed by some sort of producer? If it was he shouldnt have been fined and he should have told the cops to **** off if they tried to fine him.

But we all know traffic cops, the bill, crimewatch etc is all staged.

No, its an offence EVERY time he drives the car with the defect.

Plus hes a complete moron. I am rather glad they stopped him the way they did.

What if he had indeed been driving YOUR car and he'd nicked it? How many here would have any sympathy for him then?

As has been said the copper was proactive in getting him out of the car because he was stood next to the carrigeway with cars wizzing past at 70+mph. What would you do if you had reason to suspect the car was stolen? Tap on the window ans say 'excuse me'? Not in this day and age!

If hed been straight from the off he'd have got an explanation, a slap on the wrist for the plates and an apology for the extraction.......

If he bad been given a 14 day warning, the only time he should have been driving was the time he should have been driving to the guys who can issue the plates, no other time. No Sympathy. Deserves the fine.

2 instances in that show that sum up the difference in attitudes in a lot of drivers.

The young lad in the civic, complete plank and seeing as the camera was there decided to play up. He was on dodgy plates, he shouldn't be teararsing around everywhere on them. They should be changed at the earliest opportunity.

The older guy on the bike pulled for speeding, polite with the officer and listened to him, got off with a warning (even though he was doing 90-95mph)

Difference being good manners will usually get you further than bad ones.

I completely agree, if the kid in the civic had kept a lid on the attitude he'd have got away with it. Or, if he'd been on the way to get the plates fixed.

Spoilt brat.

What about the Romanians in the car with the kids loose in the back? Apparently language line costs £12 a minute!

Those two coppers were *****

Fair enough the lad had a bit of a mouth on him, who didn't at his age?

Towards police? Not I sir.

Never been a cocky little **** when police are around.

I haven't been pulled by police, but I've had a few encounters after being naughty, and have been polite and they've been polite back. :)

I got pulled over by the police when I was about 20 - my brake light had failed. I was on my way to work. I got out spoke to the officer politely (maybe held by the fact I was in shirt / tie) asked what I had done. He explained the problem , I told him I would get a new one once I got to work. No producer or anything off I go. Perhaps it's because I'm in my 30's now and not the same generation but I was taught to respect the police and in my day you were worried about the consequences. Not anymore obviously.
