Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord

I have got myself to the point where I have my own kingdom, ludicrous amounts of money coming in daily and a castle with a couple of fiefs.
Now the game as essentially ground to a halt and I cant figure out for the life of me what to do.

My max army size is 129 which is no where near enough men to siege any size castle or city.
Companion parties literally do nothing but roam around where I set them up, usually with max 20 men.
Any time I try to siege anywhere I get stomped by ALL the lords of the faction im attacking, then having to take forever to get recruits and build my army back up to any sort of strength.

Pretty confused what Im supposed to do here, I just cant win.
The MOST important thing in this game is to have vassals (if you're in your own faction) and mercs, plus as many parties as you can raise, increase levy size on all the perks for your kingdom. Thats far more important than owning more cities, you can own the whole map but if you don't have vassals you can't ever raise a huge army.

When you have your own kingdom, nad put your companians in charge of parties, you should be able to create an army from one of the pages (clan page maybe). That way you can group them all together to make an army large enough to take another castle/town etc. Convince people to come and join you.

I've just opted into the beta branch of updates, going to start a new game. See how the new leveling up speeds effect things, and try and actually start my own kingdom (I think the main quest is actually a key part to starting your own kingdom). Depending on which kingdom annoys me, I'll slaughter them. I think it's going to be the Aserai (they're the ones with all the horses right?) I hate fighting them, and would happily eliminate them from existance.

Guys I have to give a plug here to a Youtube content creator "Forever Gaming" that I just discovered on Nexus who has started making some great videos for Bannerlord mods, they are very clear and detailed.

Lets subscribe and encourage him to do more as currently he seems to be the only guy doing them. :)

PS: I have zero connection to this guy.

EDIT - Friendly fire mod! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-7XEdikzxg

I like the idea of friendly fire, but the AI needs to change how it clusters up before it can be implemented for me (unless it's just the player that can friendly fire).
Agreed, the AI needs to get smarter before that stuff will work very well. However, it's still cool for those looking for extra challenge. :)

Four hours playtime so far, addictive game, wish there were more quests and more to the game. I will continue to get plenty more out of it, really frustrating when you have no option to surrender due to me starting a war with the southern empire early on LOL. I try and stay away now.

I've still not made a dent on the first quest to find out what that thing is worth, I'm just going to keep fighting and join the northern empire.

You can pay them off for peace.Just go up to any lord and instead of fighting choose the option for can we avoid this and pay them off.

Just started playing the beta version, and it may be that I've started a new save, or obviously it could just be the fact they've made changes (as they've said they have), but levelling feels much faster on lower level skills now. Just running around on my own trading and taking part in tournaments at the moment. Managed to get a couple of nice pieces of kit to use and sell. Good way to improve skills, get some cash/equipment and renown, whilst working the trading routes. It's hell when you come against a massively armoured opponent though, hit as best I can and it just bounces off and they keep swinging through. Still, a few more levels and I can start taking some damage perks to help ensure every blow staggers.

About 60 hours play through on my game and since the most recent patch (the non beta one) I found that my game crashes every 5 minutes or so to the point it now crashes upon resuming saved game when you go back into it.

Tried disabling cloud storage and deleting local saves and trying again. Still same issue even after verifying game files. Looked on the Taleworld forums and saw similar issues..even launching exe from game folder as suggested didn’t resolve issue.

Looks like I’ll have to start a new game :( bit gutted as I had almost 2m coin from quests and forming caravans.

Use the character export mod and import it back in with money and stats intact

Mines exact opposite, it's stable as hell for me, previous versions have been crash fests, just cross your fingers for the daily update, yours will prolly go stable and mine crashy lol

OMFGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

I have now made it to Clan level 3 and finally have enough influence to start raising armies to join me. I am now in the process of taking my second castle (sadly not yet powerful to be assigned as governer to them) and I had to stop and come and post this. I have never felt so part of a battle as I do in this game. It is epic.

Considering this is early access I think it may well turn into one of the best war sims games ever made. Once the Warhammer and LOTR mods arrive then I will consider my gaming life fulfilled. :D

I'm guessing you never played warband? Amazing isn't it.

The big battles are so much fun, especially once you have decent gear and skills and can survive for a while. It's always tempting to turn damage down, but I can't bring myself to do it.

Tried this, they barely get any troops together for me to call for them (they have to have over 40% their capacity i think it was) and to add to that they keep declaring war on random kingdoms.
Now got 4 kingdoms stomping me when with only my companions it was just the 1 :-/

Think I might just restart and give up on the own kingdom part, its just a huge hassle.

I tried Warband but for some reason didn't get along with it. Maybe at the time I just wan't into that type of game. I will revisit it with the Warsword mod though. :)

I've been playing around with a couple of mods, one that tries to fix the spacing between troops so that they don't all clump together, it seems to work well after a little bit of tweaking. I've come up against some Empire armies that set their spearmen up almost like a phalanx and keep their formation miles better than before.

I've also been having fun with one that allows weapons to hit multiple enemies at once, both you and the AI. Charging spear troops on horseback is now suicide as both horse and rider take a hit as the spear pierces through, on the flip side it makes running down archers immense fun as you can take out a couple at a time.

Swinging wildly is now a decent strategy if you get mobbed by several at once as you can usually clip a few at the same time and cause them to back off a little. It's very overpowered, but it's been awesome being able to break through an enemy line and start going berserk with my long two handed falx sword, chopping two or three people down at a time as they have their back turned or try to flee.

I've played this far too much over last 2 days, my hands and wrists are wreaked

It's gonna be awesome-er when they develop it more etc, I have to stop now and rest (in a city :P )

Without mods you can hit multiple opponents with axes, and I think lances, if hitting with sufficient power.

The beta certainly feels like you level up a lot faster, I've been doing a lot of tournaments. Loot isn't as good as it was, but it's a handy way to pick up a reasonable starting set of armour.

I just bought my second workshop, so I'm now going to start looking towards building up my forces a bit.
