Mountain Biking

been a long time since posting in the MTB thread, but I'm looking to chuck some tubeless tyres on my CX bike, and changing them to tubeless when I get some new rims! What do I need to look out for? I'm after some 700x35ish size, ideally looking for some suitable for early season cross, so hard pack fast rolling, something like a Kenda Happy Medium (although looks to be discontinued).

Also best tubeless kit, I'll be getting some 23-25mm wide rims from China, these will come with a Novatec hub, which I've had great success with on the road bike, but not sure if there is a better more resistant Novatec hub that you guys may have used.

Supercow, don't you have a Bontrager Flash Charger pump? If so, where did you buy it from? I cannot find it anywhere in the UK :(

EDIT: Nevermind, my Google-fu was weak. Evans have them for £100.

I've been looking at that coil shock for a while now.. apparently the only one in the world! :o Has lock out on it! :o NEEEEEEEDDDD

I reckon Trek should take it off his bike and ship it to me.. or just ship the whole bike to me for the hassle? Surely?

Mojo can rework that shaft length surely.
It doesn't have lockout, just a quick LSC dial... trying to manufacture one myself at the mo! :D

Somewhat lame narcissistic selfie edit up at Aston Hill.
Too bloody tiring to keep walking up to get decent footage (add the lack of skills mean it's a whole lot of walking up a steep hill!)

Looks good!
I did the memorial ride for Mark Kingston at Swinley today. Was a great turnout and very emotional. +1 for MTB community spirit :)

Then once at home I fitted the cable disc from my very old bike to my FSR :)
I also have some juicy 3 brakes I might use soon. Only thing putting me of at the moment is the lack of rear disc mounts and it seems a big mismatch having hydraulic front disc and cable operated v,'s onthe rear?!

Thanks, had good fun making it, though it really is hard work to go up and down that many friggin times. I wanted to do all the tracks there, but after today... I'm not so sure anymore haha.

Forgot how fun the GoPro+ wifi is to play with, so got some cool shots too... need to whip out the remote more often.

Good to hear about the turnout MV, saw some posts on SFMB.

Thanks - well, yes I am closer in that I have now done everything the Aussie emigration needed me to do, I have been assigned a case worker, which means visa grant (hopefully) will be in about a couple months' time.

So I'm not leaving yet per say, but it's dawned upon me that it's my last summer up at the Hill. The place has meant an awful lot to me, on a very personal level, not just because of the riding, but the fantastic people I've met and became friends with...and associated trips as a result of starting riding bikes (started riding when I first went up to the hill). It got me in a bit of an oddly retrospective mood, so I felt that I needed to document the tracks to better remember them by.

Haha, spoken to him a fair bit... he will remember me as the bald South African that told him to get the charger damper for his fork :)... along with the long hairred, bearded Englishman I hang out with.
