Mountain Biking

I'd definitely be a lot more inclined to remove metal from the rebound knob rather than the frame, can you remove enough to give it enough clearance?

I am inclined to agree, and will take that as first course of action. I think I will take off just from the top (the knob is centred at the moment) and adjust later if I need to move the knob much for setup.

It is only JUST touching and under full compression, so I am fairly confident it will work out fine. As you can see from the o-ring position its using most of the travel, if not all :)

If I could find a shock to fit which doesn't void the frame warranty I would have bought it. I nearly asked for my money back for the bike because its annoying now.

That's the thing that puts me off Trek bikes entirely. Proprietary shock sizing... WTF is that about, seriously.

I need a quick answer as in 2hrs I'm going to buy a bike
The price of gt avalanche elite 2015 went down to £406 should I buy it over trek marlin 7 or specialized pitch comp 2015?

Most tubeless tyres will deflate after that long not using it for that long, and in fact will be anyway even if being used regularly. Just touch up the air pressure now and then.

Unfortunately it lost a bit of air since I pumped it up yesterday morning. Sitting outside Bird now waiting for them to open so that I can get sealant :(

At that price range most specs are a bit of a muchness, but the GT stands out a little bit more for me with deore kit as apposed to the altus/acera on the others.

spec wise? not huge, as i say at that price point its all very similar in performance, although in my opinion the GT is a little bit better, the drivetrain and brakes are marginally better, The frame Geometry on the GT is a bit better, head angle is a little slacker and wheelbase a little longer, which will be a benefit if you plan on riding more aggressively.

If its possible the only way to really know for sure is to get a quick feel on both if you are buying from a LBS, if ordering online its a gamble.
From my point of view i think i'd rather put my money on the GT.

Not sure about the GT, but my cousin as the Pitch and it's heavy as ****. I mocked him for taking his time up the trail until I went to put the bike on my roof. And then thought he put a good effort in, considering his age too.

Finally cut my dropper hose down to a sensible length and routed it properly. Looks much better, and considering how complex some of the guides made it out to be it was barely a 5 minute job!

Went out for a gentle amble about after and once again the bolt on the hinge between the chain stay and seat stay is working it's way lose without even pushing hard :(
Took the bolts out, cleaned them up and put them back in with a load of threadlock - fingers crossed that holds!

Just decided to get the specialized Pitch Comp 2015 rather the gt as they didnt know how long is the sale for and also the earliest they could get the bike was like 2 weeks. The Pitch is a big upgrade from my Scorpion 2013 MTB. I love it. I did about 18miles today. To try it out. If I would want to upgrade the bike, what should I start with this bike?

I cannot say that I am unhappy. I am not very expirienced with bike components and I would like to learn a bit. So I though to ask here what is the best place to start and if it is a good idea to upgrade this bike. I was thinking of maybe the brakes or the derailluers or the fork.

If it was me, I would ride the bike as it is, see what parts annoy you or cause issues and upgrade to suit.
It's what I am currently doing on my recently built bike. I just replaced the rear shock, and I am not happy with the gear shifting so am replacing the cassette with a new one as I think the one I purchased second hand was more worn that the seller let on.
Buying a brand new bike and just lobbing more parts at it without a real reason seems a bit.... pointless?
