Mountain Biking

I use my Chinese light off-road, and it has been good so far. The band grips well on my carbon bars and allows me to position it quite well.

I also have a Cree head-band thing that I used to use on my old helmet, but I am going to get one of my (Many) LED torches, and attach it to my helmet for a bit more focussed light on my field of view.

been a while got a couple of questions for you gents.

First is seats. Anyone recommend a more comfortable seat for my 29er. I am using it to commute so spend a fair bit of time sat in it compared to when riding trails.

Also has anyone done any cycling in Mammoth Lakes Yosemite (http://www.mammothmountain.com/summer/bike-park/bike-park)

I'm doing a California road trip shortly and we are staying a night or two here and was wondering if it would be worth hiring a bike and doing the uplift.

29er specific seat?

This springs to mind:

Sorry, couldn't resists....but keeping with the theme, much like d!ldo size and colour, it's a matter of personal preference. Personally, I think the SDG Bel Air 2 is the most comfy seat I've used, but your bum might be vastly different than mine.

Speaking of lights - it's getting darker sooner. Once the clocks change (whenever that is) it'll be dark by about 4pm. I would like to get a properly good light for riding with.
I currently have a bright, and good light coverage chinese T6 or whatever it is Cree LED light, which I use on my road bike for blinding cars :D (well no, I cover it or point it down whenever anyone comes the other way or passes me.)

But the mount consists of an elastic band, which is why I can just point it down - it'd be no good for riding on anything other than tarmac.

I'm quite fancying a Hope Rsomething... as that seems to have a sturdy mount... but what else is there?

I'm after 3-4 hours of battery life and LOTS of light (potentially). Wouldn't always have to be on full power.

They seem VERY expensive for what is a basically the same result as a much cheaper chinese light. Sure, they might have some bells and whistles, but I can but 10 chinese lights for the cost of their cheapest single unit?!

My 17 quid chinese special has not let me down yet, and seems to throw more than enough light for night riding!

That's fine, but some of us like lights that are built to last or dare i say UK made. There customer service rivals Hopes, ive had loads of bits for free, extra mounts, plug ends so i can use a different charger. Yes there expensive but so is most MTB stuff compared to chinese no brand stuff.

What've you got, mr Malt?

I've got one a lot like that and it's great. Have to admit though that once I added in good batteries, battery case and a charger the total wasn't quite so astronomically less than a branded one which'd come with all that. Still less, and still nearly as bright as strapping a thermonuclear device to the handlebars.

Just come back from France and they have a track on the Pic de Jur!! What a route! Didnt go on it myself but it looked scary!!
