Mountain Biking

been a while got a couple of questions for you gents.

First is seats. Anyone recommend a more comfortable seat for my 29er. I am using it to commute so spend a fair bit of time sat in it compared to when riding trails.

Also has anyone done any cycling in Mammoth Lakes Yosemite (http://www.mammothmountain.com/summer/bike-park/bike-park)

I'm doing a California road trip shortly and we are staying a night or two here and was wondering if it would be worth hiring a bike and doing the uplift.
Definitely. Why is this even a question.

Haven't ridden at Mammoth, but it's supposed to be a pretty good resort. (Have ridden all over North America)

Have you ridden at a downhill resort before?

How are you finding them cow? Better than Pikes?

Difficult to answer that. Not because it's a difficult question, but the fact I always rave on about sh!t I've bought ... :p

Put it this way, both the Pike and the 36 are fantastic forks and for the price difference, it's hard to justify going for the 36, due to marginal gains. What I can absolutely say, is that the fork is just that bit more composed when things get rough and that bit stiffer. Matched with the X2, it's a magical combo and I'm now a total fanboy, after very much hating every Fox product (apart from the 36, which was always a good fork)

New toy came, will be an awful lot better to get some surf POV footage with the Session. Got this weird Gimp ballgag thing that puts the GoPro in your mouth when you surf... will have to see if it works :p

Got back from Morzine last night, place is pretty sweet although the gradings of trail seem to be a step up to what they are here. Riding a blue felt like at least a red here if not a black.

I think I understand that Formula brakes are not very good at DH. They might be fine for most stuff out here but they didn't do so well in France. I need a new front rotor as the baggage guys have bent the front one pretty bad not just the rotor but the carrier as well.

Having a jumps and drops coaching course at Chicksands definitely helped me out there, I even did the big table on Super Morzine.

Awesome way to see in the 30th birthday :D

Did my first ride almost four months, and my shoulder actually stayed where it's meant to be. Whoop whoop! I have got badly unfit in the meantime and still some work to do strengthening up. And it was only a lap of blue and red at Swinley anyway. But still, from this small beginning hopefully I'm on a comeback now.

ive got 2 pairs of full fingers. thin ventilated pair of 661 for summer and a thicker pair of waterproof enduras for winter.

Would you be able to recommend a pair for me. I am not looking for a very expensive though

Go to a local bike shop and try some, getting a pair that is comfey for you is much more important than anything else imo.

Still using some basic ones I bought in Sport Direct with minimal padding as I've still yet to find something that is more comfortable. I figure if they're not comfortable I won't wear them, has certainly been the case with other safety related gear in the past (ie before I got a half decent helmet)
