Treat day, new iPhone and went into Evans to look for a new helmet... didn't find one... came out with a reverb.

Weirdly enough they price matched to winstanley, they wanted £189.99, phone said £184.75 (still does), I even said "I know it's only a fiver, but go on", he then pulled it up on the site and said £179.95.....

YEP thats the one :)

I think that's the price for a shorter one.

Only did a quick 10 miler but I can see it getting a lot of use.

Got my new magic pump thing, got the tyres on eventually...

Went to fit new brake hose, and I ordered the wrong one :(

Went to fit new reverb hose (has a snag, and post isnt working) and I ordered the wrong one.

Off for four days without any bike still :(

Also does anyone know where to get a stealth reverb hose?

Just found out I'll be living / working near swindon from November till March so think its the perfect time to get myself a proper full susser and abuse bike park wales as it will only be an hours drive away on weekends.

Either going to grab a tax free Cube or other german make bike or get something nice 2nd hand when I'm back in the UK.

Will bring my Cube hardtail back too in the mean time. Gonna be good.

So got my cables sorted, (wasnt putting the cable though the sram mech the sram way!) however literally after 1 ride then shifting feels stiff already... indexing all seems fine but as soon as i get to the easier gears its really stiff at the shifter.

Looking for a bit of advice on a winter ride for myself.

My current and only bike is a Transition TR500

used purely for downhill and I refuse to do much peddaling up hill on it.

Now that the season is starting to end and the evenings are drawing in I will be riding this less and less until next year. Therefore I'm looking for something I can use throughout the winter at my local trail centers - mainly to up my stamina/fitness.

I'm looking for something that will pedal well but will also be a bit of fun on the decents. I was looking at spending aroun £600 (frame only) in the secondhand market on something full sus.
After reading today and stumbling across -
Dartmoor hornet
&
Dartmoor Primal
Both at under £200 I'm a bit lost to what to get

I'm fairly sure a hard tail will be sufficient so I'm looking for suggestions or anyone with any info on the above frames.

Cheers!

Second hand nuke proof mega trail or transition bandit would be doable for £600. You may even find a bandit for 27.5 wheels which you should definitely go for in both cases.

Edit: didn't realise you wanted ht! Get a Stanton slackline :D

Has the stiffness only appeared since changing the cables, or was it present before too?

Basically, after 3 rides brand new it got stiff, put up with it for a bit then thought screw it il replace the cables myself.. however i was feeding them wrong through the sram deurailler so couldnt get to work so took it back to the shop, they put new cables in and now after 2 rides its stiff again!

I just dont understand it, is it maybe the cables they use are terrible? i have no idea :(
