Mountain Biking

yeah my cheap ebay press is not touching it. well not straight anyway.

got the trek stripped down today at the least, will go and see the guys at my old LBS I know they only charge £10 for a headset service so pressing shouldn't be £20.

now, does anyone know someone who wants a trek frame, sektors or 26" flows on SS switch (tubeless and Hans Dampf).. i need to order some wheels :D

I'll tell you what you've got a lot more patience than I, if that was my build it would have been built and dirty by now.
I'd be skint and in the dog house with the missus, but meh:D

Its not really patience, its whether or not the household eats.. :p

I know I've got expenses due but I've got to pay for fuel and hotels for the next 2 weeks too.

Jono/Begbie (whoever else has an Aeris)
What size rear rotor do you run? Struggling to figure out what kind of PM adaptor I need to run a 180mm on the back!!

Anyone know if a PM180 adaptor will fit a 160mm post mount frame? Id you get my meaning... I can't seem to find a PM 160 to 180mm adaptor.

First time back out on my bike today for 4 weeks due to being ill. Fourth run down some local tracks and I slip off some shore and face plant a rock/floor. Forced my "enduro" glasses into my nose and resulted in my having it glued back together.. Cheers bike! :D

Getting there..

Looking at it, I'm not sure a normal Reverb will work with the routing on the frame. So looking at second hand prices adding that onto the budget will drop the wheel budget down.

rhysduck - still looking for a reverb? i've not measured it but in that pic it's on its min insert line and is dropped, pretty sure its 125 drop?

yeah looks way too tight to get it into the dropper routing.

oh well. SS have 20% off 250 spend at the moment so that'll help.

needs some neon yellow graphics on the pikes though right..

Will speak to Slick :D

Wheels ordered, went for the Tech 4 set DS25 rims on Switch. As much as I'd love some Hope Pro 2 based wheelset, having to source a Stealth stops that.

SS discount codes on their facebook page for anyone that wants to know.

I have a 180 at the back, 200 at the front. Did you ask Ben/Dave?

ive just ordered a Type7 F/R180 PM-PM adapter from SS for the tranny, hoping its the right one for 160 to 180 conversion. I'll let you know if thats right when it arrives.

Cheers guys - that's the one that I ordered as they had the brake discount in Oct Neil! Should be here tomorrow.

Going 180mm back and front. Jono how do you find the 200mm up front? What kind of riding do you do on the Aeris?

I find it great, but then I went for Guide RS brakes - should've gone with Shimano, maybe... but touch wood these haven't been any problem at all. They seem to even stop my fat self well, have all the modulation you could hope for. Haven't needed bleeding yet, which compared to the old Elixirs I had before on my old bike, that's ages.

The demo bike had 180/180 I think... and these seem a good bit better at the front.

That said, I've not done anything more extreme than Dalby/Hamsterley on it and some off-piste stuff over the North Yorks moors.... I guess time will tell. If I do replace them I'll get XT/Hope, probably.
