Mountain Biking

Do you really need isopropyl alcohol when working on reverbs and/or brakes?

Not really, roxkshox use mineral oil so it isn't harmful to your paintwork. Just give it a wipe off with something after. I normally do, but it's only because I have about 30litres sat in work.

managed to get all of the hoses swapped and routed today (which was incredibly fun). just need to bleed the brakes and index the gears..

then ride it at the weekend :D

she's a little porkier than i thought she'd be, 32.45lb. probably crankset and tubes..

oh and anyone who asked about my old reverb, its 31.6mm 380mm left hand lever. reasonable condition (pics on request) but works fine.

That is one gorgeous bike!

I'm off to Surrey hills on Friday to test out my go pro, It'll probably be really muddy and i'll get the ump but it should be a laugh! And I get to have a go on my mates Devinci Wilson Carbon :D

cheers for all the nice comments :D

chains - not had any bother from my xt sp10 or sram hollowpin over the last few years.

anyone know how afan rides this time of year? looking at penhydd in a couple weeks.

No, I've come to love it, if there's a reward waiting. Afan, however, just feels like it's up the entire time with very very little payoff.

I can't recall the Afan I rode, I think that I might be a little too hasty in saying it sucks... as the other(s) might be a lot better. The one (really cant remember which one or what it was called) was boring as hell.

Some of the other guys in here might chime in / knowing the place a bit better?

ps: the CwmCarn climb is pretty horrible, but has epic descents at the end. The new XC track is also great fun. Might even be able to grab a last couple uplifts / pay by the ride if you fancy it.
