Mountain Biking

I am umming and aahing but I need to get a bike sorted ASAP. Guidance, thoughts much appreciated!

The current choices are:

2015 Enduro 29 comp for £2100
or
2015 Camber evo for £1750

I ride around surrey hills so I suspect the camber is the better choice but the pikes on the E29 are so attractive...

I have a cyclescheme voucher so I cant get a Capra.

Plenty of gnar to be had around Surrey Hills if you don't want to be 'overbiked'. And besides, being overbiked is de riguer there, etc and so on.

I don't know nuffin' about 29ers but I would've thought the Enduro is better - it costs more and has those Pikes and I gather it's a well-regarded bike anyway. Depends on if you want to spend the extra! (at a quick glance though, the 2015 model Enduro Comp is a 650b so not sure what you're thinking of getting).

Enduro without a shadow of a doubt - get amazing reviews as well....and just look at that CS length on a 29er!
Snax, you should join us up at Surrey Hills sometime, I'm not a regular, but love it up there - Milko's been on a couple of rides there with me too ( or more to the point, I leached onto his group of riding buddies)

MTB glasses? I am reading brown lenses are the best all rounder for trails riding instead of any other colour. Should I stick to getting brown lenses or other?

I was looking at Tifosi Slip and Oakley Flak jacket but these do not come with brown lenses (the oakley only black and Tifosi smoke/red/clear)

I would rather spend £100 on good eye protection and not buy them again than spend £30 on some 'ok' ones

Fakes from Aliexpress, mine were awesome till they snapped. But I reckon that was due to me being an idiot.

Some others form here, have them too...

I have some fake oakleys. Got a pack of 3 for a few quid. Clear lenses, yellow lenses and light brown.

I'm fine with light lenses for darker conditions but I wouldnt be using cheap fake sunglasses for summer/sunlight riding. Apparently it's quite bad for your eyes if they dont have the proper UV filters, etc (even worse than not wearing glasses at all).

Allegedly the fakes from Ali express are properly polarized lenses.

Mines broke on the first ride, but they were wedged in my helmet when I tried ripping them off.

Sounds like a plan. Updates to come hopefully over the next week or so.

I have 3 months yo get fit for BC bike race. So lots of Surrey hills riding and commuting on the most resistent tyres possible.

Foakleys rock - can't knock them, hard case, 3 sets of lenses, cloth, looks almost identical and cost around £20 all in.

Yeah, my gang is out pretty much every weekend in Surrey Hills, and it's not so much a gang as a loose collective of people who are happy to ride some fun stuff while nattering. Not exactly a collection of fitness fanatics but we do get some long rides done sometimes (I think one of which nearly killed Supercow :) ). And other times take all day to do about 15 miles.

Anyway, there's always new people joining us via the "London Calling MTB" Facebook group and other ways so it's not even really for me to say but all are indeed welcome. I hope to join in again soon, once i can persuade this shoulder to stop falling out at the slightest provocation.

Guys - Tubeless.

Do I remove the valve core, attach sealant inecjtor and then add sealant?

Is that it? How much is normal? Also do I not need to remove the old sealant?

I've booked the 19th july forest of dean cow if ya wanna meet up. Only me and 1 friend so far, trying to get the pink commencal warrior to join, have to see though.
