Mountain Biking

Just read about it on Dirt, such a tragic thing from what I've heard, the MTB world has lost such a huge character and seems a genuinely good bloke and role model. Can't remember seeing a shot of him not smiling!

RIP dude!

If i were only 1/10th as happy as he was it would be amazing! You never seen him without a huge grin he was always enthusiastic and made you smile. His crashes were insane but didnt seem to phase him! RIP

So I've bled my Reverb on the Shan but it's still dropping an inch or so sitting on it.

Does it need a service? If so what do I need?

I found this out the other day, mine and a buddy of mine are doing it too. Apparently it's one of the seals, contracting due to the weather being so cold causing that movement and not holding properly. US RockShox told us at work. Not sure whether I believe him or not but I can see it being plausible.

It's at the right pressure - it was doing it in the summer and now in this colder / damper weather so can't see it being that.. Unless you mean it's a permanent thing due to expanding / contracting with the temperature?

Treated myself this month to some new pedals.
So pretty its almost a shame to get them dirty!

It was time to retire the E13's to the spares box, they have served me well over the last couple of years, dealt with some serious abuse, but outer pins have all but been grounded down to nubs with repeated rock strikes, bushes have seen better days and axles are orange on the inside as seals are shot and perished.
Might eventually rebuild with fresh bushes, seals, wear plates and pins if its economically viable, but for now they are done.

Plan to get some Hope cranks to match next month.

Just seen - damn this year is a right ****ter so far :(

Remember playing Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX on my playstation many moons ago!

In other news, shortened my M8000 rear brake, now it needs a bleed :( front was fine and didn't. damn.

Rhys are you holding the lever in on the reverb when bleeding it?

i got a shimano bleed kit if you want to borrow it
Thanks , got one somewhere, if i can't find it i'll give you a shout.

Yeah, what I do is:
Both syringes on
push liquid through to post syringe.
until no bubbles come out.
disconnect the post syringe
pump lever syringe till no bubbles
then push the lever in and push syringe to force lever back out.

That's generally how the instructions tell me to do it... i think.

That's where I went wrong. Those instructions are garbage.

When doing the lever, you really need to pull the syringe up when you push the lever in. Mines took a Lot of force and about half an hour to get all the air out of the system. I had the syringe up till it was nearly out, and bubbles just kept coming. But I think you'd know if it needs a bleed, as the post will move slowly. Doubt that's the cause of it moving an inch?

Yea as begbie said the instructions are crap! It took me a while to bleed it but defiantly didn't do it the way the instructions said!
