Feeling the urge to buy new stuff for my bike. Workmate trying to persuade me to buy the Rockshox Reverb dropper post on offer on Wiggle at the moment. Can't say I'd been overly convinced by a lot of the comments on them, but after reading up more and riding more myself without one I'm starting to see the appeal. Plus ~40% discount tends to catch the eye...
What's the ocuk verdict on dropper posts?

reverb was the single best purchase i have ever made - i want my seat down on the fun stuff and was forever stopping to quick release the seatpost all the time so would end up riding around with it down (and so not going very quick) or leaving it up (and then not enjoying the fun stuff) reverb fixed that

haven't had to fiddle with it (in at least 3 years? so far?) once since fitting

if you get one - buy the opposite side lever than you want so that you can run in under the bars (read back through last 2 pages of this thread for why!)
 
Well, somehow I Completely missed the discussion on droppers there! Lost track of how many posts over the last day.
Had seen that same comment on mounting underneath on wiggle, so based on that team robot article the main thing to consider is making sure I get a suitable size, or I'll get mocked?! :P

All the new 11 speed XT is out to buy now I seen.

Finally get rid of my gxp bb. When i get the moolah going 11 speed coutesy of xt. Not bothered shimano dont do a narrow wide, lost faith in narrow wide :-p

Should have moved to Neath/Swansea. Afan trails all free, car parks are free at weekends and £1 all day!

The biggest rip off MTB place i've been to was Bedgebury. Average tracks, wasted lines and kids everywhere.... £10 to get in!

I think what it is the local tracks I ride are better than most trail centres so im just spoilt for choice I guess. I rode afan few weeks back, much the same as last but did find a very cool line on the final decent of The Wall!
 
Any snaplink thingy will work juggy - best to get 10 speed though since you;re on 10spd

edit: just read your post again. Erm, use your hands you queer? It's sometimes a PITA, but entirely doable :p

It was doable with 8 or 9 speed chains but even my granite crushing paws cant do these skinny 10 speed tings.

Never been a Massive fan of The Wall tbh. I cant really comment as i've only been at it a year. What i've noticed tho if you're not a fit person or dont ride much the last part of the Wall can be quite hard!

Personally love The Whites run far more :D
