Troy Lee A1, Bell Super, and the IXS Trail RS (Can't fault mine, very comfy)all get good reviews.
Add Specialized Ambush to that list too, tried one this weekend for size, excellent lid. Giant's new AM lid also looks the business.

That does look good!
Also Jono, where is your Bird?
And we're also waiting on a certain someone's Spitfire too!

Hey guys, any grip recommendations? i use superstar ones at the minute but they wear so quick. bit thin to.
I don't know. They haven't replied to my whinings today, which means they're busy building it, or have taken my money and eloped to France.
It's still in bits, in Eversley, probably.
Ben did say that he was hoping to post it tomorrow, but then I wanted to get it invisiframed.

Got my Dropper delivered today. Fitted to the bike and there is some slight lateral play in it (ie a twist) - it's only slight and not noticeable when riding. But can feel/hear it when moving the bike around.
Google seems to suggest that this is quite common, however I'm not sure I should really be happy with this? Anyone else had the same thing on a Rockshox Reverb?
Play aside, it works great, even if cable routing is a pain in the rear!
I got to go to Wellingborough for two weeks soon. Anyone know of anywhere to ride near there?
Ok new bike time, week away riding in the highlands pretty much killed my trail bike.
looking for Min 160mm, reasonably aggressive geo, dropper, carbon preferrably but not necessary, 3k max, no direct from manufacturers, would like to be able to go into a shop test and if happy pick it up Fri/Sat next week, so will have to be in stock.
Lots of options out there, but i've found myself very very attracted to the Norco Range 7.3.
not played with one yet but plan on ringing tuesday to get a look at and a play on one, i have tryed the smaller sibling the Sight both alu and carbon models and was very impressed with how both rode, the range is just the big brother so i expect the same ride characteristics.
played on an Spesh enduro evo, initially i was interested in the enduro evo, loved the looks and it felt so capable and confidence inspiring, i felt right at home on it, but the lower priced model i played with was a little down on the component spec and X-fusion forks were topping out horribly(bike was a rental), and was a tad on the heavy side, it felt a little too lardy for longer rides though, and my current budget wont stretch to the evo expert.
so i think i've ruled that one out, but will still see if i can get a play on a enduro comp, but again the spec is a little poor and lacks dropper.
anyone got any other suggestions to demo or any input on the Range 7.3?
Raceface half nelson grips, made my superstar ones look poverty.
Eloped to France, your never going to see that. :/
The specialized is very nice actually.
Also I can now see a mountain from my bedroom window, sadly still another 3-4 weeks waiting on my bike turning up
Ahah! Im stuck going there with work so want something to do in the evenings other than be bored in the hotel

Supercow: Hows the weather been this week down at Aston?
He's going to murder you.
