Mountain Biking

Giant Reign.

Hitting bigger stuff than I have on my DH bike and climbing up stuff I've in the past only ever pushed up. I know that sounds like im full of sh%t, but it's true.
I've spent a fair bit to get it super light (relatively speaking) without compromising on its descending capabilities, so it climbs really really well. It's also obviously not a full DH bike, but I have so much fun on it, that I've been going for stuff that I've walked away from in the past (more a mental thing as a by-product of having fun and trusting the bike)

For full gnar days, a cheap wheelset with DH tyres, and it's no slower than my DH bike was on all the stuff I ride. Granted, you;re pretty far North, so it will obviously be slower at places like FT Bill.

You won't be disappointed.

For unbeatable spec value, the Canyon Strive and Capra should be on your list... even though you can't walk in and test one. Reign's geo is best though, and arguably the suspension design too (since they blatantly stole it off Dave Weagle)

Haha, If i could get the DH bike shifted before next weekend the budget would be higher but as its looking I simply wouldnt be able to stretch the extra £300, but i think i will still put it on my list of bikes to test next week just incase the DH bike sells quick.

The capra would ideally be first choice but i've no intention of waiting what could possibly be months for a bike, dont it before with the tues never again.

I wish i wasnt in such a rush to get a new bike but i'm off up to scotland again for a week to MTB guide for my unit.
with lacking a working trail bike its gonna be quite difficult... the cannondale rz120 is good for the bin now, cracked stays, blown rear shock and leaking forks... fort bill probably wasnt a great idea... still dont know how it happened, but 3 runs of the red clearly more than it could take.

McGarrys head tube

Steve Its worth looking at the new commencal meta's aswell as the norco, reign, canyon strives n capras. Though the new specialised are shlick, theres some now with storage in the seat tube for tube/pump anc other bits n bobs

Edit. Cant find the new specialized with seat tube storage so i either made it up, dreamt it or there not out yet.

I wanna go to Les Arcs - anyone been?
Also - I still need a new helmet. Or two.
Met Parachute looks good - but I want an open face one too... I loved the look of the Sweet Protection Bushwhacker (MIPS flavour) but it's a million dorrars. Why is a bit of polystyrene and plastic so expensive?

What's a good alternative?
