Mountain Biking

Well I haven't ridden a bike since I was 13 and had an ACL replacements 7 weeks ago so need something gentle on the knee to nurse myself back to health. Going to pick up an old Cannondale F700 locally this week which needs a bit of work as it stood around for a while but has Rockshox Reba forks and few other decent bits along with a solid frame.

Wasn't it Air Canada that totalled some guys carbon rig and refused to pay out until he whipped up a social media frenzy?

Haha, yea it was them. Was that ever actually resolved... remembered reading a NSMB interview with the dude whose bike it is / was. Air Canada said it was just normal transit damage, but clearly... that bike was dragged underneath a lorry for a fair old distance!

Yeah they posted a follow up article about how Air Canada coming good in the end.

payday tomorrow which means .... time to buy bike stuff :D

looking at knee pads and a 1x chain guide (top guide only)

Looking at the POC Joint VPD v2 knees - are they worth the £££? if these things are not comfy I just end up never using them

also chain guide - I can run etype/s3 mount or ISCG05, CRC have a cheapy blackspire s3 thing that looks small and tidy, or could get Hope ISCG one - anyone run either?

I get on very well with my nukeproof knee pads, they are very supportive (dodgy knee) and comfy, but a bit of a pain to take on and off. I tried the POC ones on in store but couldn't justify the additional cost but they were very comfy and highly recommended by some of the guys I ride with.

Not living out in Cyprus, I can send them back for cheap enough. But the post office closes at 2, and I'm working from 6-6 every day for the next 3 weeks. If I can sneak out of work, I shall send them back though.

Anyone have any 26" wheel set recommendations?

Up to £200 ish...

My very old wheels (ZAC 2000) have finally given up the ghost.

Edit: meant to add 8-10 speed and 9mm QR front and rear :)

Hi guys.

Looking to buy a cheap-ish set of 2nd hand wheels for my hybrid tyres (for when I ride locally in the week). Currently have Alex XED 44's with thru axles. Everything I seem to spot on eBay is mostly QR.

Are there any adapters out there for QR wheels go thru axles or similar? Or would I be best buying QR and changing the hubs?

Email them and enquire about stock / combos etc.

They're pretty good with that kind of thing.

If you aren't fussy then I have a pair of Superstar wheels (AMX Rims) that are 26" that are brand new still in the box if you're interested.
