Mountain Biking

Missed the race, was riding too much over the weekend and fell asleep by the time I wanted to watch it (woke up with the race all done, with the iPad on my chest)
Decided to do a little edit of my local, to remember the place by (the place really meant a lot to me on a very personal level).

So after 6 full runs I decided to start selfie editing and couldn't get the full track done. Walking up numerous times for different perspective shots killed me. Will finish it up next weekend I think. Not a "shred vid" or fancy whips/manuals due to the lack of skill, but I quite enjoyed doing it so far.

Ordered this:
http://www.rosebikes.co.uk/article/rock-shox-monarch-r-rear-shock-761744/aid:761746/

over the weekend to replace the proven to be knackered Rock Shox coupe deluxe on my FSR :)
Let's hope it fits! I figure any modern air-shock from a reputable brand will perform considerably better than the no longer working 1997 coil unit :D

I think it might need to be fitted upside-down to fit into the frame and allow access to the adjustment.

Anyone ordered from there before? Postage updates have been a bit vague so far. Seemed to be the best price I could find with the pump for that unit.

Rose are fine - order bits and pieces from them. Also a full road bike, take their time updating stuff but if it's in stock then it's usually with you inside 5 days.

Picked up a 16" On One 456, rocking some Rockshox Rev 426 dual airs, 32 tooth Hope Narrow wide front end and XT 9 speed rear yesty for £400. Carbon seatpost, mish mash of headset bobbins and some worn but perfect Deore cranks.

No brakes tho so need to sort that out asap. Any suggestions?
Gonna need rotors, calipers and levers. SLX still the way forward?
Also looking at the Saint pedals on Chain Reaction atm as they look quite mint.

Grrr, ordered 2 rear shock bushing kits from Amazon on prime.
1 arrived yesterday, on time, and although slightly too large (it seems my frame is too old to have a standard size on the top mount!). I have adjusted it to fit, the other size ordered from the same seller, at the same time also on prime, has now been scheduled for delivery on Monday??!!
I specifically ordered prime to get it before a ride on sunday :( The new shock is due tomorrow, so that should be ok.
I hope the original amazon order might arrive early, but in preparation, I have also ordered from bike discount.de the same part this morning, with DHL postage. I can only hope it turns up in time.
I can't ride on my existing shock, it's has totally given up, spilt it's guts and collapsed.
The ride I am planning for is the memorial ride for Mark Kingston who died on the trails at Swinley. So I really want to make sure I can ride! Otherwise I will be taking my bike apart and building up a hardtail on an old frame specifically for the ride!

Booked an uplift day for the 20th of September at Black Mountains Cycle Centre, looking forward to it as ive never been there! :D
