Mountain Biking

Mines didn't last long at all.

My mechanix gloves, or whatever they are last longer.

If its padding/thicker palm you are after look at the Mechanix M-Pact
Awesome glove, great protection great hard-wearing features as well, very comfortable.
I use the Multicam version for Exercise/Patrolling etc one of the toughest gloves i've used.
I've tryed a set on the bike before, but the extra padding/thick material on the palm didnt suit me, i prefer wafer thin palms on mine which was a shame as i really liked the glove, but these might be perfect for you.

Well I attempted 'Ard Rock. I didn't get round it all. Knacked my shoulder falling off onto rocks on Stage 1, and it really stiffened up by the end of stage 3 I couldn't steer properly, and was making all kinds of mistakes on line choice - head wasn't right at all after my fall. So I pootled back to Reeth after 3. Feel bad, but glad I didn't maim myself properly - probably would have done if I'd carried on.

Thanks Steve :) I'll take a look at these. It's tough to find a balance between protection/padding and not having a numb experience.

Mate, works on the rigs, gets the normal thin ones from work. I have quite a few pairs. My go to gloves when there cheap. They don't last ages, 6-8 months but there fine.

Though I've yet to find any gloves that last long.

Some late afternoon play up one of the locals.

Really wish GoPro would give a realistic impression of just how steep and gnarly trails were.

Not sure they look pretty steep from me, I think once you've watched a few it's easier to tell.

This local England, or local Scotland?

Local Scotland, near Dundee.

I dunno, I think this is pretty accurate!

Yep! Have had loads like that. One of the local ones here, go pro doesn't show the 3ft+ drop that just comes out of no where. Or that the kickers are actually huge.

Trails look fun, will need to dig them out next time I'm back, if ever.

New goggles and gloves arrived this afternoon.

Goggles are a hell of a lot better than my old Oakley O-Frame, field of view is much improved, even get a spare clear lens.

just got back from Morzine, sunny and didnt rain until we were leaving!

super mozza / Zore was decent, always mega busy though, love the top blue section, get shaken to bits on the bottom fireroad !
lindarets is good, liked the blue coming back from chatel, fireroad after is savage on the hands though
chatel is proper good
plenny was serious breaking bumps all over
lesgets bit near the town is breaking bumps central and best avoided
lesgets bike park bit up the hill was my favourite bit, amazing
pointe de mossettes lift from lindarets has an amazing view at the top
