Looks like the Status is getting a single speed make over

Best thing I did! Pain in the arse to prep and repeat to keep everything nice but well forth the effort. It seems to keep the chain in better condition for longer too.Decided to give chain waxing ago, Silca Secret Blend. Anyone else ditched traditional chain lube?
I have an ultrasonic cleaner so will make light work of the cleaning, i did get the Silca kit as well to reduce the faff. Also plan to rotate 2 chains, with cassettes especially costing so much these days i want to keep it in top condition for as long as possible.Best thing I did! US cleaner has been worth it's weight for MTB parts.I have an ultrasonic cleaner so will make light work of the cleaning, i did get the Silca kit as well to reduce the faff. Works great for my road bikes, it's too wet and muddy in Scotland for a MTB chain was continually needing to redo within 30-50 miles depending on how bad the conditions were.Decided to give chain waxing ago, Silca Secret Blend. Anyone else ditched traditional chain lube?
See how I get on, just done all my mountain bike chains.Works great for my road bikes, it's too wet and muddy in Scotland for a MTB chain was continually needing to redo within 30-50 miles depending on how bad the conditions were.
I think I’ll be moving to the new Zeb and a Vivid on my next bike. Going Fox and Kashima that limits the bikes appearance.![]()
New bouncers for the eeb, Invisiframing them took much longer than it should have and it got dark so no pics on the bike![]()
It’s the sending off bit. I can service my Zeb, 38s and 36s myself as well as my Float Xs and Float X2 (not even looked at the DHX2 yet but I’d hazard a guess it’s easy enough).I now run ext shocks on 3 bikes. Vecta on the eeb and trail bikes, storia on the enduro. I will put an Arma on the DH at some point.
What’s the issue with servicing? I don’t service my shocks myself anyways. Il do a lower leg service but always send stuff off for a full. Never had an issue.
Not heard of that one, had a fair few friends who have had the corroded pin issue. Which is just power failure. Not strange behavior like that.Has anyone experienced any issues with their wireless rear mechs, specifically SRAM. Over the weekend mine decided it would only provide gears 1 or 12 skipping all others when changing up or down, which made for an eventful climb back to where we needed to be.. it did this for an hour or so then went back to providing all gears but randomly and currently works but doesn't know what gear it is in.. The app is useless as was the bike shop who only have access to the same app so it is going back to SRAM, i just wondered if it was a common issue..
Interesting. I have all the stuff to do lower leg services but most of the time CBA and send forks and shocks off anyways. It's one of the criteria i have when buying shocks and forks, being able to home service. My Lyriks with MRP Lift damper are so easy now, damper takes 15 minutes to service. I have a Fox DHX2 coil shock on mine at the minute but i prefer the feel of the air shock so will be putting the RS Super Deluxe back on at some point.
Lift is as easy as remove it from the leg, cassette tool at the top.Not heard of that one, had a fair few friends who have had the corroded pin issue. Which is just power failure. Not strange behavior like that.

I keep spares to use in rotation while i do this
When i have done it in the past with both fox and rockshox it is far from that simpleLift is as easy as remove it from the leg, cassette tool at the top.
Then you can unscrew the damper body with a spanner, that will get you to the stage you can renew the oil.
Then if you want to replace the seals it's one more spanner and the whole thing is apart. It's self purging so no special tools there and it's a spring backed IFP so no nitrogen charge.

Across multiple bikes and front and back that's a lot of money that could be spend on more bikes. When i have done it in the past with both fox and rockshox it is far from that simple
Fox specialist tools were always annoying, Special locktite that you need to heat to remove. Taking apart dampers with all the tiny shims to renew o-rings. Then their is getting air out of the system.
lastly there is me getting the rage with it because one of the above is not going to plan.
My time is worth way more than the £130 it costs to pay a pro![]()
You have a problem.A valid reason. I just rotate one in out of my "shock drawer"
