Move away from DPD, they're dragging you down

DPD are by far the best delivery company I've ever used. I've even known their drivers pop in on the way back to the depot when I've missed the initial drop just to see if I'm in later on in the day.

I also never had a problem with City Link but that could be because I'm about half a mile away from the depot so they'd struggle with excuses :p

I've only ever had problems wih DX and DHL. In fact DHL are so bad that I actively avoid buying from any company who ships with them.

I've ordered 2 deliveries from ocuk and both have come in the 2hour slot i was told by dpd.

Should be a 1 hour slot. :)

DPD are by far the best courier we have ever used. And yes, we have used many different ones in the past. If something goes wrong once (and if something does go wrong, it doesn't take a month to resolve it, just takes a day or so and a couple of phone calls depending on the issue :)), you maybe just unlucky or there was a slight problem with DPD at the time. I deal with our Customer Service a lot and I must say we rarely get any problems with them on a daily basis, this includes damaged goods, missing goods, failed deliveries due to their fault. So I am pretty impressed with them.

If you have had a problem with them twice, then that is very unlucky, I'd recommend trying again as they are extremely amazing. - If you still keep having problems, then let me know in the Customer Service section, as it seems like there is a problem when placing the order, could be a bad/wrong postcode, we deal with more bad postcodes a day than people having missed deliveries.

I'd recommend checking your address on your account as you will be surprised how many times we have to amend orders because of customers putting in their wrong address details.

If there is a problem with DPD themselves, as regards to deliveries in your area then we can chat to them and see where the problem is.

Hope this explains and give you some reassurance that even though we are not the delivery company, I am more than happy to help you when ever

I find DPD pretty decent, usually get my slot as 5pm-6pm or 4pm-5pm, what annoys me is when they are 5-10 minutes early they will just sit in their van until the time has come to when they quoted delivery. Don't understand, I'd rather early delivery than on time and I'm sure others would too?

As stupid as it sounds, they have no choice but to sit for those 5 to 10 minutes. I work with couriers a lot in my job and hear nothing but complaining from them on the subject.

Basically some courier companies put customer service so far ahead of employee satisfaction, that they give each delivery a rigid time frame (usually within an hour) that the driver must adhere to. This is so that you, the customer, know when to expect your delivery within an hour. But a lot of the time the drivers get so far ahead of schedule by working as quickly as they can that they are forced by their handset terminals to wait 5-10 minutes to get them back into line with their ETAs.

So as much as they would love to deliver to you and not wait, they can't. Basically, people can't get a timed ETA on their deliveries without a few 5-10 minutes "sit in vans".

DPD have always been absolutely superb for me.

Always delivered on time, and always during the 1hr time slot they provide.

Best courier by a long way IMHO.

It's all dependent on circumstances tbh. I know the CityLink driver who delivers to my business - he has an insane number of drops/collects to do each day. But for me he's been brilliant. DPD on the other had arrive about a day late on average, delivered in a knackered ball of rust, sorry, van, often just chuck the parcel through the door (no signature, from me anyway).

i ordered one of them ssd as well came little bit later then normal (4pm)
even tho DPD has always delivered on time i have a problem with one of the delivery guys saying to me 'do you want me to sign it for you' just seemed little bit doggy

I ordered one of the Daily Deal SSD's yesterday - order placed 10am yesterday, dispatch email 11am yesterday, for 'Next Day Delivery' via DPD.

Today, took the day off to wait in for parcel. No delivery.

The status update on the DPD website finally changed this evening from 'Nothing on record' to 'Awaiting receipt of parcel'.

This is the 4th time that this has occurred. I can forgive DPD/OCuK the first time, but 4 times now? Seriously guys, lose DPD they just don't do companies any favours. Free postage is a nice feature, but what i've saved in £7-10 in postage fees from a competitor, i've lost in a day of leave (£150 based on hourly rate). This makes competitors more tempting. This is not good as I have always purchased every computer component from OCUK for the past 6 years.

I am left with a wasted day of holiday, no SSD, and the prospect of my dodgy neighbour collecting my parcel. Not happy the first time, but four times really takes the damned mickey.

I've found DPD to be excellent every time I've used them. I recently had the same issue as you and after a few expensive phone calls to OcUK it turns out they sent me a dispatch notice and forgot to actually dispatch it.

Always had a 5* service from DPD, always been bang on in the time slot.

Never had a problem with Citylink either to be honest although they're depot is only a couple of miles up the road so no bother if I have to go and collect.

DX on the other hand we're awful, don't even give the option to collect from a depot

thank god you're back

my colleage and friend has stopped shopping with OcUK all together now and refuses to use them because of order mixups, stock shortage delays etc and only 5UB seems to manage to avoid... can you please post your vacation schedule so I can avoid ordering from OcUK when you are out?
