Move away from DPD, they're dragging you down

I love DPD their deliverys for me both at work and home (company and personal) have been great! DX however fail at life(although the re-deliver program is good-assuming they can find you) .

Only had an issue with DPD the first time they delivered to my place. Since then they have been perfect with their timeslots and as it is the same driver all the time they now know which house is mine.

I lived in huge tower block of student housing, ordered a whole system and case with DPD, drive was running late so he telephoned me ages before delivery time with a new time, told him about living in a tower block so he said he would give me a ring when hes there. Just before he arrived he sent a message saying i'm next. Cant get better service than that.

As has been said a few times already, in most cases a lot is down to the 'enthusiasm' of the final delivery driver. Some will go out of their way to try and locate a particular property, while others will just say 'sod it' and move on.

I feel that I am probably here at an advantage in living in a fairly 'rural' area, where the pace of life is slower, and the roads are fairly quiet.

Although DPD are still my courier of choice, the Citylink driver has called here so many times now that if I am out working in the garden when he drives past, he will always give me a 'toot' and a wave!

I find DPD pretty decent, usually get my slot as 5pm-6pm or 4pm-5pm, what annoys me is when they are 5-10 minutes early they will just sit in their van until the time has come to when they quoted delivery. Don't understand, I'd rather early delivery than on time and I'm sure others would too?

That's you looking at it from your point of view. I've gone to a house to meet an arranged 9am appointment (repairs, not delivery) got there at 8:45, sat there till 11 only to find he had been and gone at 8:15. Who is wrong?

I asked one of the drivers. Apparently they can't use their scanner before the arrival time. The driver sat 30mins outside the warehouse with my SSD :(

Understood 100%, but there was nothing professional about last week either :D I never even got a simple sorry, was just ignored.

I deal with pre-sales and orders mainly, send me the link here and I will try sort you out.

I know full well it wasn't a pre-sales or orders because I have ensured they are kept on top of even when being off work. - I even did a couple of replies on my week off from home. :)

Hi m8

Can I send you a message via trust?

Cheers

When etailers started using City Link less and less it was a godsend for me. They were awful, and I could pretty much guarantee that if it was coming through them, I probably wouldn't receive my items when I was supposed to.

Sometimes, even if an item is cheaper on a particular site, if I can see they use City Link, I will avoid.

DPD have been absolutely outstanding for me personally. My stuff always gets delivered, and their time estimates are pretty accurate.

Like others have said, it's probably down to the driver that is the last in the chain - if they are useless, then they make the company look bad.

City Link are just useless all round :)

DPD have been pretty decent for me, couple of times they didnt deliver at stated time or not at all that day, plus the delivery slots for me are not that great being early afternoon, but the nearest depot is glasgow so its understandable delays happen, and a little prior planning means i can arrange to have someone be in or a neighbour to get it, always get the same 2 drivers, both very pleasant people.
Considering how many times i've used them the majority of the time i get excellent service, i have no issues with DPD.

Citylink were great for me until they closed the depot a mile from me some years back, as soon as the depot was transfered they became unreliable, hence now i try not to use them.

royal mail have been problem free for me, as have been parcel force.

it really is down to the local depot mainly.

DPD are not perfect but in my experience they tend to be the best option.

I oredered a new monitor Last Friday evening after plying the wife with pleanty of wine. DPD delivered it Monday morning. I wasn't expecting it till Tuesday because of the weekend thing.
I was over the moon. Good job DPD and OCUK :)
