Move away from DPD, they're dragging you down

DPD are rubbish round here, they have:

1) Outsourced my package to a non-tracked service which arrived after the last stated possible delivery times.
2) Not bothered to move a package to my local depot so it did not arrive the next day.
3) Given me snarky phone service (a couple of times).
4) Failed to upgrade my service after a called them and paid for it.

Can you not get deliveries to your work instead? Would make things far more simple.

As for how good DPD are, they haven't let me down yet and always arrive within the first 5 minutes of the allocated time on tracking. Parcelforce are also very good where I live.

I don't understand all the people on here that take a day off work to take delivery of a hard drive or a graphics card. How does it make sense to use a days holiday or lose a days money for the sake of a parcel delivery!!!!

That should change when OcUK move premises next weekend.

We are moving location

Cant see it changing that much, i used to work for Ocuk an have seen the last 3 shops/warehouse.

There mainly set up for quick service, some one very high up used to like the customers in an out quickly as possible.

Sorry Surveyor just noticed the qoute under your post :\

I think there needs to be a choice.

Im often (always) aty work during the time DPD deliver. If you call them up, you cant speak to a human. Just a silly robot.

I managed to find the number for the local depot in the yellow pages, spoke to a grumpy person on the phone who said that

1. the can redeliver the parcel, but only to the same address, or another number in the same postcode. The issue here is my block of flats has its own postcode, so i cant deliver it to my girlfriends house which is just a 2 min walk away from my place.

2. If i want to change the delivery address i need to speak to the sender as there will be a cost involved.

3. The automated system only lets you pick a very limited date range for re-dlivery.

In the end, i spoke to the depot and found out that if you leave a handwritted note, with the date and your signature on it then this is taen as delivery sonsent and they will leave the parcel wherever you say.

Theyre a terrable company TBH, better than Citylink granted, but id prefer Parcel Force. At least they can leave the items at a local post office as theyre part of royal main, rather than delivery depot 40 miles away (and yes, ive been there twice...).

ive been messed around by dpd before

waited in all day for a parcel that i had received a text from dpd saying a time it would be delivered.

8pm still no parcel but tracking says delivered

i went to the depot the next day as it is just a few mins away from me to find that some other guy had signed for it in what looks like code language.

they contact the driver that delivered it and he says a short stocky guy thats balding on top signed for it, i asked if he was covered in blood as my dogs would have attacked him as i dont know a guy of that description let alone let him in my house, his reply was it was definitely your address.

the gps tracker shows the guy was down my street also.

anyways 3 days later i receive a parcel and all of the dpd docs had the date of the day i received it on

so quite obviously they made a mistake

Well as people are posting some DPD fail story's try this Citylink one :P

You are the Citylink courier, the person your delivering too is at work, do you:
(A) Leave the parcel with the neighbors.
(B) Take it to the depo 20 minutes away, a 40 minute round trip for the receiver and a distance that can be covered easily after he returns from work but before the depo closes.
(C) Hide the parcel in the front garden so it can only be seen from the house.

The correct answer is (D) Take it to the other depo 60 minutes away, a 2hr round trip for the receiver and a distance that cannot possibly be covered after he returns from work but before the depo closes.

The only option to receive a Citylink parcel round here is to either take an entire day off work or wait until the Saturday and collect :(

Good experiences with DPD, next day deliveries always arrive the next morning/early afternoon without fail, and 3 - 5 day orders always seem to get here after 2. Their postage tracker is also very good for me as well.
