Moving to Canada for 12 months - IEC Working Holiday Visa

I was told by bunac that my visa application has to be in by march this year, im wanting to go to canada next april/may time, is this correct?
My only thought is, once its issued you only have 12 months to enter canada, what if i do it now and it comes back late febuary, i will miss the end of the winter season 2014?

If you want to move in April next year, you could probably get away with applying for next years quota.

However, if you do apply now, you have 12 months from when you receive your Letter of Introduction to move to Canada. Therefore, if you want to move in April, I'd suggest applying around April time. You'll then get 12 months to move, then when you land in Canada in April 2013, you'll get your visa for 12 months.

The quota ran out in about August last year, however people seem to think it may run out a bit sooner this year as a lot of people missed out last year. Not sure how true that is.

As above though, if you want to move in April 2013, you can't receive your LOI before April 2012, otherwise it will have expired by April 2013. Hope that makes sense.
 
Cheers for clearing that up dude, so the March 2012 date bunac told me was rollocks :)

Going to start filling out the forms soon, so prepare for loads of annoying questions haha :)
 
I know BUNAC also has/had a waiting list, possibly the Government scheme does too?

A friend of mine twice was on the waiting list, got offered one, but then turned it down as he was unsure.
 
Mine and my Mrs' applications went in the post today! :D Had a bit of a panic as my wife phoned me up after posting them and said; "did we have to include any form of payment?" That set me in a bit of a panic! It really isn't very clear on the site, but it seems you pay the fee once you have been accepted. Panic over! :)
 
Heading out to Toronto late March early April this year based on the arrival of a friends permit.

We submitted our forms in Aug 11 except mine went off around the 9th and my friends was the following week in which during that weekend they cut off accepting forms so mine cleared through and got the Work Permit in November so no just waiting for there form to clear.

I saw someone mention about current employers keeping jobs open. I submitted a career break application with my current employer as a kind of safe net for when coming home but i really dont think i'd want to return having been here since i finished college in 06.
 
My girlfriend and I sent off our police certificate applications at the weekend, fingers crossed they come back ok. All of our other forms are ready to go once we get the police certificate :)

Finally heard back from IEC, they've requested payment so I'm through to the next round :) Still need to get processed by Visa Section, but it's looking hopeful.
 
I'll be driving through/staying a couple of nights in Toronto most likely in August. I can't wait to go since I've been to the US many times but I've never been across the border.

Bit of an update from my page, got everything priced up, just starting to save, got around 10% of what i'll need so far :)

Just waiting till April time to apply for Visa, which will hopefully then be confirmed by mid-summer, then i'll get flights booked and course deposits paid :)

I keep thinking i'm forgetting something, as it all seems too easy at the moment :/

It says:

The 2012 Working Holiday category is now closed.

Please note that we will not accept any applications mailed after Monday November 28th, 2011 (as attested by the postal mark). Please ensure that the mailing date is clearly and lisibly indicated.

No waiting list will be established. The information regarding the opening of the 2013 Working Holiday category will be posted on this page in Fall 2012.
