I read about this issue on the MSI R9 290 Gaming card as well, which must use the same bearings. That, complaints about 'cheap' build quality elsewhere and some questions over cooling performance really put me off that card. I ended up going for the PowerColor PCS+ model instead for a similar price. It seems to have great cooling performance and be a reliable card - and hopefully no oil leaks.
Cannot be using military grade bearings.
Just arranged a RMA request for my 270.
I don't think I'll bother with MSI's graphic cards using the same bearing after this.
MSI seem to be dishing out quite a lot of faulty AMD cards at the minute, seems to be posts about them every day.
