MSI gtx 670 Power edition "none oc" edition owners thread

Thanks for that,

Is anyone elses wrong too? Becuase i looked in the Heaven Bench thread and theres all seem to be correct.

Everyones is wrong. Read off afterburner/gpuz/precision x e.t.c. The Heaven core clock has always been wrong for me. It claimed my OC edition was running at over 1300mhz...it wasnt.

Thats silly of heaven because the memory speed is right, is it due to the kepler boost? :)

Thanks. :D

If it shows in gpuz the sensor tab and the core to be x then its x. I dunno about readings from other programs like heaven tbh but i think everyone trusts gpuz enough.

I am not sure. It has never been correct for me and i have read to never read clocks from heaven as they are incorrect (well 99% of the time anyway)

Last night i finally settled on 1162/1752.. Well proud.. :D

That seems to be my maximum, got me 50.2 on the sleeping dogs bench so not bad what-so-ever.

Weird. What system do you have? I just scored 917 with a core boost of 1175mhz and mem + 300mhz offset ( using 1080p extreme 8xaa, same as in heaven 4.0 bench thread)

Ofcourse my non overclocked version was delivered today and lo and behold, it performs/overclocks better than my overclocked edition

Interestingly, the non oc version i got today runs quite a bit hotte than the OC edition (5 degrees or so)

You must have one of the settings set to lower than the heaven 4.0 thread, as the fastest one on there scores around that mark running at 1340mhz

You got tess set to extreme? I'm was testing in an older i7 system, which I don't think would make a difference.

Edit. Sorry my bad 990 scored on heaven not 890

Here's my run on the slightly slower 670 of the two

i havent looked into mine much yet, but right of the bat put the core on +100 in afterburner and the memory on +300.

put the power tab up to 110 but not touched anything else. been dog stable with all benchmarks. Not sure it is worth pushing any more TBH.

Aslong as you can get through a Heaven Run you're alright. :D

That's good, mine won't even give me +100 core, im on +85. though the meory lets me go up +500..

Doomedspeed,

What do you score in heaven Valley ?

I only ask because i get 1176 core and upto 7544mhz on the memory on my 670 but i think your 670 might be a little faster than mine at lower clocks. just curious.

Cheers

Hi, :)

I downloaded it and ran it for you but my Afterburner screenshots are messing up, so i can't prove it :D

I got 2,000,000. :D

My score was 1956

How does yours compare?

Hello :)

I got 2029 ( on heaven valley benchmark thread ) max i could manage with 1176 core and 6800 memory. I might try 7500 memory see if that makes a difference.

Sleeping dogs is 47.1 though so although its only 3 fps your card runs that game way better than mine.

Also i ran my 3570k at 4ghz and at 4.5ghz and it made no difference to the score in sleeping dogs.

Im using 320.49 drivers as 314.22 drivers only got 42 fps in sleeping dogs.

Edit : just ran heaven valley again with the memory at 7412mhz and scored 2103.

Hmm im using the 314.22 drivers. Are they now considered too old to use for the 670? As in anyone else use em or just me and if just me, what drivers are you all on?

314.22 are solid drivers, no crashes , I had problems with the early 320's on bf3 so i used 314.22 for months.

Been using the 320.49 since a week ago and not had a crash yet!!!

Thats odd, may just be the game. I can't see why though, you have a faster overall CPU than mine and a faster GPU and probably faster RAM (im rocking old school 1333 :D)..Just shows how odd games behave..

Im on 320.49, have been for a while with no real issues. :D

Just got around to testing one of my new cards:

Not bad, although it is loud, much louder than my ref 670 card.

And that was with +83 clock and +499 memory, everything else stock.

Mine is very quite. I cannot hear it when gaming. Your temp is showing 92.c which is a bit hot especially with the fan at %86. Tbh something is not quite right there...

92 degrees!!

Too hot. These should run just under or around 70 with the fan only going up to 50%

Also, just for reference. I just got a new case (NXZT 630 Phantom) and even with the fan controller on the case on silent mode/low my 670 only got up to 62 degrees max after an entire run of heaven 4.0. This is with the stock fan profile but with core offset at +68 and memory offset at +350.

Far too hot. Tho what were u actually doing to make it that hot? Heaven benchmark gets it up to about 70 at the very end of the benchmark and thats "just". Was still pretty quiet as well.

At idle it should be around 30-35 degrees or so. If its more than 40 you either have bad airflow or a dodgy card im thinking somehow.
