MSI GTX780 Lightning due 07/08/13

Elmors hwbot score from above is out, 1800mhz core 1900mhz memory, fastest 780 & 5th fastest gpu in 3d11, impressive considering the 4 titans above it all had to use daughter boards and a fair bit of soldering to get that high, while the 780 was done purely on software alone.

What is weird about it is the performance difference between the 780 and the top Titans on there. It is near enough the same as the stock cards percentage wise.

I think on the single and 2 way sli setups the lightnings are going to be a lot of fun for benching.

A word of warning though for potential lightning users, thrashing HD 9970s can incur the wrath of the red guard.:D

I think a 780 is gonna take down the Titans to be honest in benching terms anyway. I will be trying for sure not tested my cards yet but its coming. Elmor would have done even better with more CPU power I have 5.7 ghz SB E oh yes and my Ivy E ;)

A shame we won't see your ivy e scores till' September :(

So what's going to be needed to de-throne the titans? 2ghz?

@kaap, I can handle the red chaps ;):p

About 1950mhz I recon

After all the hassle with the red brigade this week, they are something I don't want to be associated with so I very tempted to say out with the platinums and in with a couple of green lightnings.:D

The only problem is shifting a couple of Matrix platinums these days.:D

Haha still premium cards kaap, still fetch around £300 each, especially as they're eol now. Enough to take a chunk out of a 780 lightnings price tag anyhow.

What's been happening with the red guys now? Work and a screaming 7 week old poop machine have left me a little out of the loop so to speak.

I don't think I had better comment here or the resulting row will ruin the thread.

With a screaming 7 week old poop machine I think you really need to get the 780 lightning to give you a break.:D:)

Ah I understand, I can probably imagine what's been going on though :p

Yep, lightnings and ivy e are my treat to me, can easy bench while I'm feeding him :D

From my understanding they're either available direct for purchase on the 7th or just reveal and pre order the 7th. First public final design batch has already been created too so I'm hopeful on being able to purchase one on the 7th.

Sooner the better, at least that way i'll be called a fanboy for defending Nvidia :D

Guessing you're buying 1 (2?? :D) to replace your ageing red rig?

I am very tempted.

The new red is green.:D

Just been looking at prices of MSI gaming edition and lightning cards. On the 770s there is about £35 difference between the two, if this is carried over to the 780s we could be looking at a price just under £600.

Come Gibbo we are on a need to know footing.:D

Around that. I did 2g on 680 in vantage so the challenge is there. I have Vantage WR with Titan though anyway. But 11, FS and FS X are worth going after.

Ivy E will be a Vantage,11 and Firestrike Monster on LN2. Having said that Haswell is amazing for GT's in all these benches.

You will see my 780 Lightening scores sooner than you think ;)

@8 Pack, rough time scale on when we'll see your results? Fancy doing some quick 3d11 air runs too?

@Kaap, I wish but I'm not hopeful, 770 lightnings are so cheap next to the gaming edition as msi didn't have to do any r&d at all. I'll be happy at sub £650.

I'm gonna skip the 780 all together. My 770's will hold me until the 800 series or if I go the AMD route the 9xxx :)
