Omg just checked my bank account and I've had a payment from the msi rep of £42.50 so happy as thought mine had been rejected!

The terms and conditions of the promotion were:

"The cashback amount will be 20% back off the price paid on the qualifying MSI Graphics Card at the qualifying place of purchase as stated on the customer invoice."

No mention of vat?

No payment for me either, i did receive an email from someone attached to the debacle that I should respond if i don't have the cashback by the 23rd March. The actual rep (Tom) is on holiday until next Monday. I feel we may have to contact him en masse 1, if we still have not had it and 2, if they are attempting to fob us off with an amount less than what was promised.

This whole thing has been a complete shamble, what with having to contact MSI to get the cashback, it being less than advertised and also the fact that OCUK have not so much as acknowledged the issue. I may as well have eaten a lemon to get this much of a sour taste in my mouth.

Have OCUK provided any support to you guys? They seem very quiet on the page of late and as it was a promotion pushed by them they should really muscle in on this.

As above. Haven't really thought about going to them really, although as you say it should be something they weigh in on. If it's still not landed by next week, or it's not the amount we were promised I'll likely strike up a conversation about it with ocuk!

Dont see why there is any need to wait, they sold this on the promise of cashback which would have helped them with sales figures...I know if I had done any promotion like this and no cashback was provided my customers would hound me!

It's mostly laziness, plus a little bit of not wanting to be in charge =D

Yes, we have pushed them on this matter, but MSI UK has had staffing changes and in short the service levels have dropped.
At least they finally seem to be paying the cashback now and they have calculated the amount the same way I did, so £42.50 is the correct amount.

Where are you working out £42.50 to be the correct amount?

The cashback form states:

"The cashback amount will be 20% back off the price paid on the qualifying MSI Graphics Card at the place of purchase as stated on the invoice."

My invoice total shows £254.99, for purchasing a MSI RX 480 Gaming X 8GB. 20% of 254.99 is more than £42.50....

There is no mention of any other fees, such as VAT being deducted.

20% is VAT, card was £254.99, exc vat that is £212.49, difference £42.50, the thread title states £212 after cashback, add £42.50 and your at the advertised price. That is how I worked it out and clearly MSI have done the same. If you feel that is wrong discuss it with them and see what they say but they have clearly made the same calculation I made when I made this thread and it was advertised as costing £212 after cashback on OcUK meaning customers are owed £42.50 by MSI to meet how this thread was titled/advertised.

Thanks for weighing in Gibbo, I did think the original amount was going to be more than that, but as you've explained it is indeed 42.50. Hopefully they pull their fingers out and actually get the cashback to all of us by the end of this week!

We pushed after Christmas, then again in January, MSI were giving pretty much no response. But like I say UK staffing has changed and things just seem to have taken a turn for the worse. MSI should have worded the campaign better such as "get the VAT back" because it is clearly they have calculated it based on the excluding taxes amount. But in fairness this thread was made and clearly titled £212 after cashback, meaning MSI owe £42.50 to fall in line with what OcUK advertised. Anyone assuming they think they are getting more or less is assumption and well assumption is the mother of all **** ups.

Yeah, some conflicting promo messages have lead to some confusion, that's for sure.

Such as "MSI Radeon RX 480 Gaming X 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card *20% CASHBACK* @ £254.99 inc VAT " found on page 1 of this thread.

Anyway, issue sorted.

Bought from another supplier (at £245) but just had a payment of £40.83 into my account, looks like 20% off pre vat price.
Payment from OPIA Ltd btw who appear to be a specialist in cashback deals.

I would definitely not use specialist to refer to the company who has been handling this cashback! After all, it's now almost April and cashback should have been paid by the end of February!

But, i checked my bank and i do indeed have a payment of 42.50, so for me this is sorted. If you don't have it and want the contact details of who i have been talking with then PM me.

I submitted my claim mid-december and have been watching my account since the 10 week mark for cashback to appear. In the last couple weeks I tried calling them a couple of times but didn’t get through to anyone. Was going to try again today and thought I’d check my online banking first so I don’t make a fool of myself and lo and behold £40.83 from Opia Ltd gone in today.

So it looks like they’ve run a ‘payroll’ and I expect everyone who submitted a valid claim will find they’ve been paid out today.
