MSI UK Details its Sandy Bridge Exchange Program

Heya,

you arent being ignored, i've flagged your email for follow up, i've just been swamped dealing with the backlog of work from my week off. I'll be in touch in a day or two.

Whilst I've got your attention though can you inspect the board and CPU socket for damage? The DOA rate on these boards is so insanely low that I haven't actually had to deal with one yet.

Hi,

Thanks for the information. Lucky me then it seems. When I say DOA what I mean is that it powers on for around a second, then powers off again.

I'll inspect the board for any damage, but it looked fine when it arrived, and still does.

Just got my MSI board. What are the chances of just keeping the exact same bios settings and being able to keep the same hard drive configuration and it working? Rather than installs windows again?

If it's the same model motherboard you won't have to insatall Windows again.

Just plug in your existing drive, make any necessary changes in the BIOS and away you go.

You will have to reactivate Windows though.

Bios is set on the motherboard so will have changed, but the bios settings are the same. I didn't have to reinstall Win 7, just built it and fired it up, went into bios, set it up and it worked.

ScottiB,

I'm not sure whether you'll see this message in time, but I replied to your mail to arrange a time and date for the swap of the faulty B3 motherboard. I'd asked for tomorrow (18th) for the delivery, with you stating in your mail that you couldn't arrange the delivery until today. As of yet I haven't had a confirmation that the 18th is OK, should I bother packing up my B2 motherboard? I don't want to break my PC down tonight if the B3 motherboard isn't coming tomorrow.

Cheers.

Hi MSI. I registered my motherboard for advanced replacement on 28th April and got a confirmation but nothing else since. Just want to check that its still going through the process and not been some kind of problem?

Cheers.

ALL users whose registration reached my system have been contacted already. I received only one registration on the 28th.

Can you email me via Trust (bottom right) with the confirmation number and your details so that I can check.

The same goes for anybody who registered for a UK exchange and has not been contacted.

When I book a collection I will email you with the details and a collection reference, if you have not received that reply then I cna only assume that I have not received your email. As of fifteen minutes ago all collection request emails have been replied to.

Hi ScottiB,

I've just sent you another email ( I mentioned my forum username in the email). I quoted the original email which asked for today (18th) as delivery. If you could arrange for a new B3 to be sent out at the first available date, and I'll ensure that the faulty B3 board and B2 board are ready for collection.

If you could get back to me by email or post here that would be great.

Let me know if you still don't see the email, and I can send it through Trust instead.

Cheers.

Hi ScottiB, just noticed the invoice email got caught in my hotmail spam folder even though all the intitial emails got through. Sorry about that. I have now sent advanced payment, and a message through trust. Just checking will I now recieve a confirmation email for delivery dates etc? Cheers.

Hi ScottiB,

I've just replied to the latest email MSI sent me (I presume it was you that sent it) , asking for a new delivery date as obviously it can't now be today.

If you don't receive the email could you let me know here if the date I suggested (Friday 20th May) is acceptable for delivery of a replacement B3 board? If so, I'll ensure my faulty B3 board and B2 boards are ready for collection.

Cheers.

Hello ScottiB,

Just a quick email to ask if you've booked in delivery of a replacement B3 board for tomorrow (Friday 20th May) as per our emails yesterday? I realise you normally send out emails with collection references once it's booked in, but as emails have been a bit unreliable, I thought I'd double check.

Thanks.

Hi ScottiB,

Still no response from yourself / MSi regarding my replacement B3 motherboard being delivered tomorrow (Friday 20th May). Can I get an update please? Is the delivery booked in?

Are you sure your email is working properly? this is not the first email issue that i've had with you. I sent the board out personally this morning. :D

Hi ScottiB,

As sure as I can be. I'm still receiving all the email I expect from other sources and it's not being filtered to spam.

Thanks for sending out the replacement B3 mobo today. I'll ensure the faulty B3 board and my B2 board are ready for collection tomorrow.

Cheers.
