MSI's X570 Tomahawk May Become Go-To OC Board??

Not sure about 5600X (or other cpus as EDC may be different), but on 5900X since AGESA 1.2.0.5 EDC is limited to 140. If you set EDC higher than 140 then boost voltage is throttled and max clocks suffer.

Btw @SpudMaster, our join dates and post counts are weirdly similar :D

Spooky :p

I'll test it tonight with my 5600X, currently have EDC set to 150

So no sure if the 5600X is affect by the EDC bug but with the latest bios I didn't notice any difference to the boost voltage when setting EDC to either 139 or 150

I bought this shortly after it came out and have a 8 core 3 series ryzen in it.

Whats the sweet point at this time for upgrading the CPU, that won't break the bank and the mobo is compatible with ?

5600g/5700g in you need intergrated graphics, the 5700x if you don't. These chips offer great value for money/performance ;)

Hi guys,

Just tried to flash to the latest bios and now my rig won't boot... fans spin and my keyboard lights up but thats it.

I left the room while the update was taking place but I can't imagine anything untoward happened?

I've never used the recovery method before, can someone here who has possibly guide me?

Thanks!

I think I've just about tried everything - the board doesn't seem to want to know... is there an MSI rep on here still?

You tried following one of the BIOS flashback guides? Got to do it to the letter.

I used this guide before.
Thanks! Can I ask though, did you completely strip your rig bare before you did that? - and is the flash led on the bios button meant to be white on this board? There's a lot of MSI boards that tell you to look for the red led.

If i remember correctly, i did the bios flashback once before with all components installed and am sure the led was white.

Have you tried resetting CMOS, it sometimes needs to be done.
