Still having troubles getting the T8J to fully control the Z15-5D gimbal via the R2008SB receiver. I have tilt and pan but just can't get any of the aux channels to be received/recognised by the Z15's GCU.

Am at a complete loss and have Googled the hell out of it!

Few photos from todays meetup... We informed ATC we were making test flights up to 400ft in the area but even then there was quite a lot of light aircraft traffic above 400ft. Everything went well but seemed to get usual crosstalk from FPV when close to each other, I guess the Fatshark / ImmersionRC transmitters / receivers use quite a tight group of frequency's. The home build 800 size hex with carbon props made a crazy loud sound... sounded like a Sea King landing on beach.

Nice :).

Finally got there with the T8J, bit of a bodge job but it works. I just mixed two switches with the throttle and rudder controls so the receiver/GCU is only using channels 1-4 which it seems is all it can see. Like I said not ideal, but at least I've now got pan, tilt, mode and shutter :).

Glad you got it sorted, when is maiden flight ?, or has that already happened ?.... need a video of it up to see :)

Well it's ready but annoyingly I didn't realise the lot didn't come with the right cables to charge the damn batteries. A bit annoying that the shop didn't think to include them or at least ask if we wanted them. So I've had to order two sets of EC5 -> banana leads, so it's pretty much whenever they arrive as all the LiPos are just sat at 50% at the moment.

Also still waiting on the iOSD though that's not a necessity.

What A2 firmware are you at for your maiden flight?
How are you going to judge your LiPo capacity and drain without the iOSD and without telemetry?

I upgraded it to 2.3 last night but probably won't be flying until next Sunday or Monday at the earliest so may roll back to 2.1 if anything gets reported before then.

The iOSD is arriving today or tomorrow (apparently!) so hopefully that'll be setup before then but in the first instance I'm not too worried about that side straight away as I'll literally just be going up a couple of feet and checking that all the transmitters still work, especially for the things I can't test beforehand (general flight control plus mode switching, landing gear etc). But point taken :).

Well, in my haste to get my quad rebuilt to get some action in before sundown, I plugged one of my ESCs the wrong way into a pdb. Cue acrid smoke, a little bit of fire and maybe a damaged battery :p

More haste, less speed

It is and it's shipping with Afro ESCs too which sound much better. I've just ordered some spares (RCX motors and ESCs) from MyRCmart.

I lost 2 feet that fell off in flight in a field last weekend :( Any suggestions for a bodge replacement.

Also having intermittent issues with loss of throttle input on the KK, looks like I have a loose connection somewhere.

Got some neon spray for the arms for orientation so might disassemble the whole lot, dump the PDB and bullet connectors to save some weight and rebuild the whole thing :)

Yeah, fly footless :p Just be a little more careful during landing (self level before setting down is usually what I do. You could also get hold of the FPV cage part and mount it underneath, it's around the same height as the legs and will provide some protection for your battery

You can also use a helicopter landing skid similar to this with some modding

P.S. if anyone finds some small plastic parts which look like quadcopter legs somewhere in Waterlow park Highgate, message me in trust
