Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

I've got a newbie Question. I have a Turnigy 9x Tx. Since it supports multiple models I take it each model will automatically pair with the respective receiver module?

The receiver does the pairing, the TX doesn't really care. Any RX paired with the TX will remain paired. Iirc, you need to select the model you want to fly manually, unless you haven't changed any default settings, which makes the model memory moot

E: The above rx does just pair with my TX, but that supports FHSS. The range is supposed to be quite a bit reduced but then my 250 is limited to FPV signal range and ~5 minute flight times anyway, so the temptation to push its limits are not so strong :p

goggle based FPV has been banned in USA as of 26th june.
a few minor swears in the vid

Totally over the top.. But bruce is right, I blame the twits who buy a phantom and think its safe to fly in built up areas and dont have a clue.

I fear the UK is next.

important bit
By definition, a model aircraft must be “flown within visual line of sight of the
person operating the aircraft.” P.L. 112-95, section 336(c)(2).
1
Based on the plain
language of the statute, the FAA interprets this requirement to mean that: (1) the aircraft
must be visible at all times to the operator; (2) that the operator must use his or her own
natural vision (which includes vision corrected by standard eyeglasses or contact lenses)
to observe the aircraft; and (3) people other than the operator may not be used in lieu of
the operator for maintaining visual line of sight. Under the criteria above, visual line of
sight would mean that the operator has an unobstructed view of the model aircraft. To
ensure that the operator has the best view of the aircraft, the statutory requirement would
preclude the use of vision-enhancing devices, such as binoculars, night vision goggles,
powered vision magnifying devices, and goggles designed to provide a “first-person
view” from the model.

That ruling is stupid as Bruce suggests but it's been provoked by numerous outbursts of stupidity from reckless noobs who buy the likes of a Phantom and then proceed to crash/near miss where they really shouldn't be flying

Cheapest mobius cameras in the UK thanks to banggood stocking them in their UK warehouse, standard lens version for £43, use code bgw002 to get this price. They did have the wide one as well but guess it's sold out already :(

I ordered a wide one on Friday and it turned up today, better image quality than I was expecting from the youtube vids I've seen. Now I just need to get my quad built now so I can use it :)

Corfe Castle this morning... light rain, cloudy, but got a few snaps.

Very nice Flukester, very nice !!

Thanks :-), sometimes you just wish you had more than a tiny GoPro up there..

I see an arm extended F550 to F800 heavy lift upgrade coming with Sony Nex on the horizon though doubt it's worth the investment unless going commercial.

This hobby gets way to expensive when you start adding up how much you have sunk into it though... and deep down you know that it could all literally come crashing down in a instant :)

I think I have the best part of £2000 in that F550 when adding up everything.
